Burning movies when i burn a movie it takes over an hour then it will play on my pc but wont play on my tv but some times it will play but it starts the movie at the finish throuh to the start

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

What program(s) are you using to burn the movie? Are your disks dual layer or single? What kind of hardware does your computer have (ram, processor, etc)

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

What software are you using, are you burning a dvd, and encoding movies takes along time. The back to front playing suggests wrong settings inside software.

CDS BURN BUT CANNOT PLAY WHY?

You mean, you burn the CD in your PC but you can't play it in external CD player ?
Maybe you didn't burned it in "movie" mode, just burned in "data" mode. As you know, CD player can't play .avi or .mkv or other video formats. They only can play movie in .DAT format, and when you burn in "make a movie" mode, the burner will convert your movie to this format so you can re-open your movie via CD player.
Or there is an error during the burning time, if this happen then you have to re-burn your movie into another CD.

Hope this help and be kind to rate this answer.

How can I burn a CD or DVD of a "movie" I made with photos and music? I am using Microsoft Picture It Express 9. Any help would be great!

Hi!

Firs of all you need to think on in what format you having that movie in. I guess you want to play it in a ordinary dvd and and they are restricted, all dvds plays mpeg bur not all plays dvix, xvid etc

When you have decided the format you need a burning program, one of the best is Nero ( http://www.nero.co ) its not free but you can download and try it for 30 days.
Another program is cdburner ( http://www.cdburnerxp.se/ ), that oen is free, not as good as nero in my opinion..but..its free

After installing the burner program you need to select if you need a cd or a dvd disk to burn on, a cd takes 700mb, there are cd:s that takes 800mb but they are more expensive. A dvd takes 4,7gb.

Now its time to burn, start the program select the disk you going to burn on, then its just to drag and drop the moviefile you want to burn. When the movie file is in place, start burning, select the burning speed, dont burn to fast since you burning a movie, i recoemnd a speed of 15-20x speed

After burning, your done! take out the disk ans enjoy your movie!
Let me know how it goes

Good luck
Nic

PS, i asume that you have a cd/dvd burner on your pc

I am making a movie on Magix Movie edit pro. Everytime I try to burn, it says that it is in the process of burning, but you never see any progress. Hours later it is the same. Twice I have just hit cancel...

Restart the Computer, and then you need to reinstall it, and it will work perfect.

D VD

The problem you are having is the DVD player. Not all DVD players will play a burned DVD. Some set top DVD players are know for being very picky about what type of DVD's they will play, and Phillips is very bad about this.

If you have the owners manual for the DVD player, look inside and see what type of disc's are playable. if it should play them DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R. DVD+RW should all be listed.

Right now about 80% of DVD players do not play burned DVD's

In time they all will play them, but for some unknownn reason, some are still made without this ability.

Also, not all DVD-R's are created equal.

The best quality of DVD's to buy for burning are Taiyo Yuden. But Sony, memorex, and Maxell are also pretty good.

One way to be certain about the quality of the burned DVD's is to take one to a friends house or anybody you know who has a set top DVD player and see if it plays in their DVD player.

That will at least tell you if the DVD's you are burning are at fault or not. But my guess is that you r Phillips is the culprit here.

I hope this was helpful to you, if so a good rating would really be appreciated.

I have been buring DVD's since they started selling them for the PC. compatibility has been the only problem I have had.
My sony DVD player plays everything I throw at it.
