My MCBC580DBT only gets cool not cold, anymore.No codes are displayed. Do I take off the back lower panel to investigate or the panel inside the fridge at the top??

I feel for ya but nothing you can do besides report the first technician to the BBB and hire another, more reputible one

I, too, have just seen (late June 2013) the "HH" code on my Magic Chef wine cooler (and it is running too cold and I can't reset the temperature). Have you found a solution since your posting of about 1 year ago?

Problem is the thermostat.The heat/cool selector switch might not be making try back and fourth from heat/cool to make a good contact.In heat mode make sure the temp is set LOWER than your cooling temp.If it is too cold in the future just RAISE the cooling temp up and not the heat/cool switch.

This unit has a diagnostic center located on the circuit board. The unfortunate thing is that if you take off the lower panel to get to the circuit board, it opens up the door safety switch and erases the code. Look for a small viewing port on the lower panel maybe under a sticker. Read the number of blinks of a light. Open up the lower panel and read the wiring diagram for a code chart. Get back to up with the info.

Check the inside back lower wall inside the freezer. If it has ice built up on it, you will most likely have a defrost problem. This will most likely be a bad heater. You can remove the panel and use a hair dryer to melt ice. The heater is wrapped around the coil inside.

Try to completely defrost it, then if the freezer works but not the fridge change the thermostat
