Beep every 5 seconds on my desktop acer computer

It is either CPU or Motherboard failure or your keyboard controller failure. Keyboard plugs directly into your motherboard or through a USB port. Try a different keyboard first and if that doesn't work then it may be time to look into getting a new computer. it will drive you crazy trying to diagnose the problem. Good luck ........

VIRUS. a big bad one. Try the restore discs or a bootable USB. you made a bootable restore right? RIGHT?

Hi,

It appears that the computer is not recognizing the RAM. In this case, you may have to open the case and remove the RAM, clean it and insert it back. That should take care of the issue.

i would check your power supply. take it to a local computer shop. or call acer for warranty support.

or if you are running on a backup ups, plug the computer directly into the wall and try it again

1. Remove the memory and put it back in again.
2. Remove the video card and put it back in again.

Check those two items first. Usually a beeping at the beginning would indicate either a memory or video problem, depending on the type of beep and computer.
