Can a Delonghi dehumidifier DH25 be connected to an outlet pipe to get rid of the water? It's working fine, but I ned to empty it nearly every day

Some dehumidifiers have provisions for connection of an ordinary garden hose to drain into a tub, a standpipe, or a sump pit.

My frigidaire dehumidifier mod. #LAD254NTL only fills the bucket and will not transfer to the connected hose

Dave, this happens quite frequently. It''s due to a clog in the hose or a clog in the hose connection tubing. If you unit has a float valve in the top of the bucket, be sure that it's not stuck in the UP position. To resolve clogging problem, do the following:

1. Turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the unit. Disconnect the hose from the unit
and check for clogs and remove them if necessary.

2. If no clogs were found in the hose, the clog is in the hose connection tubing. Use and 18"
long, plastic ZIP Tie, appropriately sized to fit in the hose connector tubing. Carefully insert the
Zip Tie or something similar (NO Wire coat hangers, though) into the hole and continue to push
it in until you reach a bend in the tubing. You will need to gingerly work it past this bend, until
the ZIP Tie either bottoms out or you run out of usable ZIP Tie. Then while rotating (Twisting) the
ZIP Tie, slowly pull it out. As you reach the inserted end of the ZIP Tie, be prepared for some
water to follow.

That should solve the problem. Be sure the hose is no longer than 5 feet and that it slopes downward from the unit, with no kinks in it.

Hope this helped you solve the problem. Please let me know, Thanks.

Top of dehumidifier is very hot to the touch, filter is clean don't know what to do, afraid to put it on in case of fire.

Are you running it in high ambient temperatures?
Can you see any condensate(water) on the coil?
It may be that it is running above it's temperature range. A dehumidifier has two coils(radiators if you like). One gets cold, the other gets hot. The first one renoves the moisture from the air, this is the evaporator and is cold. The heat taken from the air is absorbed into the refrigerant and is given back to the air when it passes through th other coil, the condensor which is hot. The refrigeration circuit itself produces heat. This heat plus the heat absorbed from the air has to be got rid of. If the ambient temperature is high, the condensor will have trouble getting rid of the heat from the circuit. This can cause the case to feel hot to the touch. Assuming you don't have a refrigeration leak, it may not be worth running the unit if it is not removing moisture from the air. Is any water being dropped into the bucket? If it isn't, all you are doing is wasting electricity.
