GBC Pinnacle 27 roll laminator control panel will not turn on...the amin switch in the back is on

At those prices they should come out and fix it for free. It sounds like the motor has failed or or is cutting out on an overheat thermal limiter. Reach out ot them for support.

There isn't anything you can do, those machines are screamers. sometimes they start screaching right away, sometimes it takes a few rolls of film run through before they start, but they ALWAYS start to scream, sooner or later. it becomes loud enough that some people refuse to use it because they think its coming apart. not my favorite.

left hand side cover is probably off and excess light is getting onto the motor speed sensor. put the side cover back on and try it, most likely that will fix it. could also be the set screw on the right side is loose, error 1 means you have a speed problem. check gears and chain. only other part that has caused this in the past is the keypanel.

Each heat shoe has a small thermal fuse, if either fuse is blown, the laminator keypanel will not operate. 99% fix everytime, just follow the wires from each heat shoe (right side of laminator) cover off. Ohm each set of wires and look for an open circuit. replace fuse (TCO) and it will work everytime......

you have one of the TCO's that is blown out, To test them you need to take the right side cover off, and test continuity from one side of the tco to the other, start with the tco wire that is connected to the tray switch, the other end of the tco wire is connected to the wire block on the right side of the laminator. just follow the wires back to the heat shoe and check for continuity. A TCO is no more than a temperature fuse. you can actually make a test "jumper wire" and jump across both connectors and it should power right on. You need to be careful and follow the wires back correctly so you don't fry the laminator the rest of the way.
