Cd will not open
SOURCE: cd changer won't open
try to open by hand, see if the tray is stuck.
opening by hand is you turn the motor.
if you put a power supply direct to the motor the pcb will be burnt
(giving a bigger problem).
Look for mechanical problems.

No solution - plastic thread driving opening/closing had snapped after 16 years!
SOURCE: hi I have a jvc
I had the same problem. Out of the blue, neither the single tray nor the cassette would eject. On top of that, it wouldn't change discs or even play the disc in the engaged tray. I then unplugged the unit, moved it to my work table, plugged it back it, and it worked fine.
Last year I had a similar problem with the JVC receiver RX750V that I had bought along with the CD player, probably around 1986--it simply would not turn on. I took it out of the cabinet, and shipped it to a JVC repair shop called BC Electronics, Levittown, PA 215 547-7600. They were very knowledgeable and courteous, but said they could find nothing wrong with the unit, and that the unit worked fine. They shipped it back, and the unit worked fine initially. I found that the problem recurred, i.e. that every so often I'd turn the machine on via the on-off switch, and nothing would happen. If I then unplugged the unit, left it off for a while, and plugged it back in, it would work fine. I then installed an in-line on-off switch on the receiver cord. It now seems to work fine consistently.
It seems that after twenty years, this same problem may affect this generation of JVC components, i.e. that the main power source to the unit must occasionally be cut off.
On the other hand I could be completely wrong and just plain lucky...Hope that helps.
