Phone will not charge.

Could be a combo of low battery and not yet being connected. Charge it overnight and check on it in the morning.

The light on top of the phone indicates signal reception, there should be an option to turn it off if you dont want. during charging you should have a different colour and also a differnt colour when battery is full.

Your phone needs reflashing. It seems that your phone's GDFS is dead. If you still have a warranty for your phone than take it to the Service Centre and they will do it for free. If you don't have a warranty than it will be a little expensive.
However you can flash your phone by yourself FOR FREE using SeTool2.

Return to the carrier for warranty repair.

If you are out of warranty there are some options you can choose from

1. Get repaired
2. New phone
3. external charging source

The external battery charger runs about 20 dollars on ebay with an extra battery.

not to worry this is a fixable problem..............take te phone to a mobile shop and have them reflash the firmware n custom pack back into the phone and this will correct the problem....the erom needs to be loaded back on the phone.

First get rubbing alcohol (higher % the better) and brush both ports on the phone and the charger. Blow dry it for a minute or so and plug in.

If still no-go, then try it with another charger....if the same result, the phone has a bad charging port and need to be replaced.

The newer phones are coming out with very sensitive ports, so you have to be finesse with them.

I had this same problem and all I did was to unplug the DC adapter at the phone and plug it back in after a few seconds. The solid charge light came on immediately, like usual. I let the battery charge for several hours before using the handset again.

Did you try to reset the phone.

Normal Reset (*#7780#) : Restores ini files from rom but preserves user data (photos, 3rd party apps etc)

Deep Reset (*#7370#) : This reformats completely the C: drive. All applications and files stored on this drive will be lost and clean default files will be rewritten.

Hard reset
Press Call + 3 + * simultaneously during the bootup phase, forces the N95 to do a complete wipe of internal memory.
This will reset the phone back to 100% standard factory configuration.

Almost certainly liquid damage to the lower part of the phone!

Depending on your skills, removing the back cover (the bottom lifts after removing the four screws and then you need to twist and tug the top to get the back off) and clean the bottom 1/4 of the phone using a toothbrush soaked in isopropyl alcohol. Then dry completely with hot air, a hair dryer will suffice.

10 out 10 non-charging KG-220 seem here in the last six months were all fixed using this method!

The classic indication is when plugging the charger into the switch on phone, the handset turns off.
