Reset The Lamp Timer.

While simultaneously holding down (+ . >) and AUTO SYNC on the projector, Press ( I ) ON and ( - . < ) on the projector.

"LAMP 0000H" is displayed, indicating that the lamp timer is reset.

NOTE..... Make sure only to reset the lamp timer only when replacing the lamp. If you reset the lamp timer and continue to use the same lamp, this may cause the lamp tp become damaged or explode...

SOURCE: I got a free sharp notevision PG-m20x. I plug it

if you don't hear a high-pitched whir, the colorwheel needs replacing. if you do hear it, the lamp may need replacing. if the lamp is new, there is a power supply problem.

I think it's capacitor issue on the power supply board. open it, look for power supply board and fine bloated capacitor and replace it.

Projector wont turn on

reset the lamp hour counter by (after you plug it in) holding down the enter, down, and menu buttons then press the power button. if it comes on, replace the lamp, it's old. if not, make sure the lamp door is closed completely and there's nothing blocking the fans.

To solve this problem, simultaneously press the "Input", "Enter", and "Undo" buttons. While holding these buttons, press "On". When the project turns on, you should see "LAMP 100%". This indicates that you have successfully reset the lamp life timer.

Blinking Red Light

I had the same problem with the blinking red light. I looks as if realy RL701 on the main power board is the problem. I removed the cover of the relay and cleaned the contacts. Despite the contacts being worn down it worked great. I have ordered a new relay from Sharp for about $35 to replace it (part # 95CK3102AL001).
