CHECK YOUR INSRUCTION MANUAL TO SEE IF THERE IS A CHILD LOCKOUT FEATURE ON THE CONTROL PANEL. USUALLY, THERE IS A TOUCH PAD TO HOLD FOR 5 SECONDS TO LOCK/UNLOCK THE CONTROLS. YOU CAN ALSO TRY UNPLUGGIN THE DRYER FOR 5 MINUTES TO SEE IF THE MICRCOMPUTER WILL RESET.

A quarter was lodged on the thermal fuse , located below the lint screen on the blower exhaust housing, on our dryer. Remove the front lower panel , 2 screw, and you'll see 2 fuses. I suspect that our control board is burnt.

the problem is with the start winding on your dryer motor.it is centrifical switch,so if a lint build up gets in that motor switch area it stays on the run winding.pop the top .remove the frount.pull drum.vacume motor out if then starts on own great.other wise you need new motor.parts about 100$God bless,tom

I posted today (Jan 2, 2009) that I had same problem. Handyman tested for blown thermal fuse, etc and everything was fine. He said I have to replace the timer switch .. well guess what - I fidgeted with the start button (on/off) hard a few times while simultaneously pressing & releasing door switch and it did the trick. In my case the problem was most likely with the start button. Dryer is working fine now!
