Just a thought, is there a "greyscale" setting?
When I try to print I have the choice of Black & White, colour, and greyscale.

Is the paper a shade of grey with no image? or is there an image with a grey background?
If there is a image with a grey background you should try a new toner module. If that doesn't resolve the issue, clean the xerographic drum, make 10 blank copies, if the cleaning doesn't resolve the issue than install a new xerographic module.

This is common problem on this tv, picture tube is bad. Blue and green is more % bad.

Thats the first stages of the 3 red lights ,the white lines are vertical sheering caused by the vga chip.Microsoft now give 3 years warrenty for the 3 red light error plus if you have only just had it back from Microsoft then it will have deffo got a year on it anyway.

Sounds like dropped pixels.  My first guess is the computer has been dropped on its corner, with the pixel dropout radiating diagonally from the corner.
My saint bernard sat on my g3 lombard, and I have vertical pixel dropout because of it, from the top of the screen to the bottom.
And no, it is not normal for a macbook to have lines across the screen.

Sound like you have to turn down the G2 (screen)controls. They are turned up too high.
