My Kenmore 500 mod 110.69522800 type DWSR-ELE-2406026-FM54 start button wont turn it on. How do I fix this?

Kenmore 500 Mod 110.69522800 Type DWSR-ELE-2406026-FM54 Start button wont work, the door clicks shut good, the control settings know still works(how long it runs, delicate, perm press, etc.) I have read up and they say it could be the thermal fuse or maybe the start switch, and it could be the motor. I cant afford a technician, can someone please help me get my dryer fixed.

Yes it is fairly easy to replace from the back. First verify it is the element and not the thermal fuse or a loss of one leg of the 240VAC circuit.

SOURCE: motor wouldn't start replaced the motor and it still won't start?

Did you replace the thermal limiter fuse inside the cabinet near the motor? It is likely burned out. Contact the repairclinic.com for the part or Sears.

Maytag dryer temperature fluctuates. replaced the thermal fuse 2 weeks ago. this fixed the problem but the dryer now gets a lot hotter and cooler than before. all the clothing is coming out wrinkled.

change the cycling thermostat and when was the last time you cleaned out the dryer and vent line?if it's gas it should be done at least once a year electric every 16 to 20 months because you don't have an open flame in there like a gas dryer but you either have bad air movement or the cycling t-stat is bad and if you had to change out the thermal fuse is a definite sign of this,if your clothes have been taking longer to dry you have a block somewhere, you can try removing the vent line from the back of dryer and run it to see if it helps and check the duct that the lint filter slides down into for lint buildup, all a dryer does is spin, heat and move air if it's blocked it will pop the thermal fuse.

I have a Whirlpool dryer...Mod nu# WED5800SQ0,

Sounds like your capacitor has stopped functioning. Most dryers have capacitors ranging from 8 to 10 ohms which store energy and give the drum the initial energy boost to start it turning. Unplug the machine and take off the side that contains the motor. in there you will find a small cylindrical object with two connections, thats your capacitor, replace it
