89 T-BIRD WONT START, TURNS OVER, THEFT LIGHT BLINKING, OWNER LOST KEYS, HAD NEW KEY CUT STILL WONT RUN

I would go after the door lock first. Older fords have a switch on the door lock that disables the alarm. They tend to break and fall though. I have replaced them with a momentary on/ff switch. But the alarm would go off when opening the door. On some older ones(85,87)(no keypad) I could disconnect the security module and it did just fine.

Door wont open from outside

remove the door trim and replace the door lock rod in side at the lock . It is held in place by a plastic clip which breaks on a regular basis and allows the rod to fall out.

Key wont open door on Chevy Colorado, only remote entry works. Even duplicate key doesn't work. Battery fine.

Try spraying some wd40 into the lock loads of it and keep turning the key left to right might free off.

Or it could be a rod inside the door has come off so the lock wont move to unlock, the central locking has a motor to open the door that is not attached to the rod so it can work without the lock.

Take the door card/trim off and have a look at the rear of the lock, should have 1 rod for the handle, 1 for the lock mechanism and another for the inner handle. some are cables but most are rods

It might just have came off the back of the lock, they use very small plastic clips to hold the rod in place, when it gets cold the crack and fall off so the rod fall's out.

Hope this helps

Driver's door keyhole fell inside door

The only way to get the lock back is to take the door panel off the inside. There is a C-ring or E-ring that goes around the lock cylinder to hold it in the hole. Did some one punch it in to get the door open? There may be damage done. The lock cylinder may keep falling in if the hole is now to big. The lock cylinder goes in from the outside and the clip holds it from falling out of the door. It does not fall into the door very easily. If you take it to an auto glass place they can get the door panel off and on for you for a fair price. You do need a special tool to get the panel off without breaking the clips. You can rip it off and break the clips and purchase new ones from the dealer, an auto parts store or a window specialist. Hope this helps. If you have any more questions post them here I will check back again later.

Door locks

behind the lock cyl. is a snap ring if you shine a mirror up at it you will see it p.s you would want to put a rag down in the door covering up the gap when you pull the snap ring out it will fall down toward that gap if it falls in that gap it is hard to get out
