The microwave doesn't have power

It started over a week. At first you could open it, program the time, then start it. The timer would start but then no action from the microwave except the internal light. You would have to push firmly on the door then it would start. A week later, now it has no power even though it is plugged in. It's a GE model number je 1640wa 002 or je164owa 002

Yeah I figured it was a mortal wound but someone told me something that sounded a little off and I wanted to check. They said that sometimes if the light bulb goes out then if won't work but that didn't seem right.

    Anyone else?

Sounds very much like the magnetron is at the end of its life , if everything else on the oven is working but you don't get that familiar hum as the magnetron kicks in and I am afraid they can cost as much as a new oven especially with the repair cost , time to go to the store and get a new one it will probably be cheaper ... Kenmore elite microwave model 721.79203010 problems

I'd check to make sure you don't have a door switch that isn't functioning properly. Also, might be a control panel or control panel interface issue.

The timer doesn't work right.

Are you programming it for 2:00 or just pressing 2, then Start?

Try resetting it by unplugging it for a couple of minutes, plugging it back in, then setting the clock and trying again.

Khhc2090s trouble

The sensor errors are probably just from opening the door and interrupting the sensor cook cycle.

By the way, you should always press "Stop" before opening the door of a running microwave. Otherwise, the door switches will prematurely fail.

I would first check the door switches and their mounts. See this help file.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

My microwave stopped suddenly while running and after sometime it came to normall position. again i started it again it stopped and started after some time. why??l

It can be that there are loose connections in the main board., Does the timer also cut off at this time. If so there are errors in the timer control panel, remove power plug and open cover to check on the board, the relays and the connections of the magnetron.

Door indicator prevents microwave from starting

This is usually an indication of a bad door interlock. Take resistance readings with the power turned off on the primary and secondary interlocks. You will need to remove the control panel to access them. There should be a wiring diagram somewhere inside the control panel to assist you in determining if the interlock is normally OPEN, or normally CLOSED. As you open and close the door the interlock should change states. Additionally, double all your connectors to make sure they are plugged in correctly. I had a similar problem once and it turned out to be a loose connection on one of the interlocks. I hope this helps you.
