Same switch but my question is that I would like to know where to connect the traveller to power the next downstream device. I tried the bottom Quickwire but that works only when the bottom switch is in the ON position. Help

Ok,That is 3 switches in one,You have all the wires on the post correctly? You just need to tighten them down and install into the wall box.If you are not sure of the wiring,Post details of the 3 items to be controlled by the switches and the wires in the box(How many and what color) and a wiring diagram can be provided.

Hi Gary!

You should have three wires. The green wire is the ground wire. The white wire is your neutrual wire and then you will have your red or black wire which is your hot wire. Just hook it up as a normal switch - if you need further help contact me at [email protected]. The switch will not work if it is not hooked up correctly.

Does your plug have the 3rd ground plug on the cord? If yes, does the switch have the paper insulation wrapping around it? Something isn't being grounded correctly.

How do i switch from 230 to 115 motor is over heating superflo 1.5 hp

Changing from 220 to 110 will not reduce the temperature of your pump motor ... it may increase it.

If you insist and you know what you are doing, remove the back cover of the motor and examine the wiring. It should be self evident the change you must make. Next, you will have to replace the double pole breaker for a single pole and you will have to take the white wire and run that to the neutral bus.

There is that possibility you may have to increase the gage of the wire from #14 to #12 if #14 is installed.

Changing from 220 to 110 will also slightly increase your energy bill.

Hi, one of the audio phono leads has packed up on my Technics 1210 after all these years. Have cut off the actual input jack (white) and was wondering how best to go about adding a new one. I thought this...

Hi, Replacing the rca plug at the end of the cable is just a matter of splicing the wires correctly. The wire is actually a 2 wire line, almost directly under the black outer casing will be the ground wire ( is actually going to be totally wrapped around the center wire ) this will be evident if you look at the cross section where you cut the cord. The replacement end can be purchased at the local Radio Shack, less than $3 probably for a pack of 2. When stripping the casing from the cord be carful not to cut away too much of ground wire sheath ( this may lead to difficulty in attaching new end ) it is almost inevitable to have a few strands of wire cut loose. The next step is to sort of " part " the outer sheathing, then kind of wrap both halves around the inner conductor as close to where you stripped outer sheathing away as possible. Next strip away the inner wires sheathing and you have the two ends to either solder, if you know how to, or tie through the holes of the replacement rca plugs leads. I hope this was of enough help and thank you for asking FixYa, Good luck-Prodzilla

I have a live 2-wire line that used to be connected to a light with a switch built into the light fixture. I removed the fixture and put wire nuts on the live wire. What I'm trying to do is to wire the 2...

As I understand it you have a live circuit going to a light fixture that had a switch built into it. You have removed the fixture and now you want to run this wire to another location and install a switch in the circuit.

You will be extinding these two wires (white and black + ground) to the new location. No problem ... Somewhere between where you start and where you finish, you will break the black wire and install a single pole switch. All connecctions must happen inside a electrical box.

So, install the new wire in the box where you will start your extension. Run to the new switch box. You dont even have to cut the white wire. You will wrap the green or ground around the ground screw on the switch, Cut the black wire . put one end under one side screw, put the other end under the other side screw. From this box run your wire to the next box where you will install your fixture.

If you are using metal boxes, they must be grounded to the circuit. You can use pig tails for this, Best deal is to use plastic boxes that dont require grounding.

I hope this answers your question

I have an Onkyo AV Receiver and every time I push a button(input selector, turn speakers on or off...anything) the whole system shuts off but i can turn it back on immediately and it's fine till I hit...

Onkyo & Harmon Kardon it a very nice unit and it built very professionaly and very sensitve unit. Its very important that you make sure the correct pole is connect correctly when it come to speakers. the unit come with resetable breakers inside the receiver (safety protection) so you wont blow or short the unit if not connected up correctly. when wiring speakers up from an to the receiver you have to make sure the poles are hook up correctly. positve speaker wire go straight to positive plug behind the receiver same as negative. the speaker wires should have some kind of making on it to mark as either positive or negative. try that and see if that help, if nedd more help.

Need to connect 3 wires from pole to 2 wires in unit

It sounds like a 120 volt line coming in from the pole. Red is the hot wire, white the common or neutral wire, and the green ground. Hook the red and white to the two main wire lugs in the unit and the green goes to the frame or ground lug that will tie to the frame.

Not sure hooked up correctly

The black and white wires should both go to the breaker. Not just the black wire. If you hook only the black wire to the breaker then you are only feeding the unit with 110 instead of 220. Both wires need to be hot.
