That's a tough one. First, be prepared for the CD to be ruined. The process of getting it stuck or extracting it is likely to cause some significant scratches. If you can look into the drive and see the disc, try using some tweezers to work it out. Take your time - it's likely to be jammed up in there pretty good.
If you can't see the disc you may need to remove the drive and either attempt to disassemble it or just replace it altogether (the latter being my recommendation). If you look on the bottom of your laptop you should see a screw that is positioned on the centerline of the optical drive at what would be the back of the drive. It may even have a disc icon next to it. Power off, unplug it and remove the battery. Remove the screw then try pulling the optical drive straight out from the chassis. If you need leverage, use a paper clip to push the manual eject (behind the little hole in the front bezel of the drive) and use the drawer to -gently- pull on the drive. Replacement is just a matter of sliding the drive back in, seating it in the connector and replacing the screw.
If you opt to replace the drive you should be able to find compatible parts on eBay if you don't want to pay HP for an OEM part.

wow...that's a little tense..only way I know is with long needle nose(but be careful with mechanism) or talking apart the laptop(takes around 35 min and loads of patience) so you can slide it out from inside.

SOURCE: Stuck DVD tray
Turn off the computer and then use the paper clip to open the DVD tray.
If this doesn't work, then something is jaming and stopping the tray from opening. In this case, remove the DVD drive and dismantle the drive (ie. remove the metal cover to reveal the internal components and remove the CD ot DVD disc.
If nothing works the the DVD drive is faulty and needs to be replaced, these drives are not expensive.

Maryar,
The tray may have got stuck. It happens. What you can do is look for a small hole on the face of the drive, either on the tray front or just below it. Insert a paper pin through it. The pin will press a lever which will open the tray. If you do it a few times the tray may get unstuck finally. Hopefully.
