This player froze. I pushed the reset and the library "rebuilt", but the player was still frozen. I plugged it in to recharge and now nothing. Doesn't turn on. Creative says its "at the end of it's life", so they don't support it. Any ideas before the trash?
I had the same problem. Icontacted creative labs and they told me to reset it using the reset button. (small hole you need to use an electronic pencil to get to it) and then it worked.

If you already try both reset, then try doing a firmware update.
On computer try unplugging computer power cable, and if it is a laptop also remove battery, this sort out problems related with electrostatic charges on computer USB ports.
On the side of this player there is a very small hole real tiny, once you find it take something that isnt metal and that will fit all the way into the hole and push it on down for at least 30 seconds this should reset the player.
Reset with needle and while it is rebuilding library press and hold the center button it should take you to the format screen and get rid of the corrupted file by reformatting.

Zen V is dead "If your Zen V is dead, wont respond to anything, try this, plug it in to the computer, hold the power switch in the on position, THEN trigger the reset button, worked like a charm for mine, I had thought it a lost cause."
if that doesnt work try How to reset Zen v + http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22T_gkkZjmM&feature=related
I Recently bought a Zen, and it works great. The only problem I found was that it freezes itself from time to time, and the best solution to this problem is on the bottom of your Zen, there is a very small Reset hole. With a needle or a toothpick, gently stick it in, and push lightly. This will allow the Zen to unfreeze, and return back into it's regular mode. All your files will be saved, and kept on to the Zen, so you don't need to worry about losing any of your files.
