Try resetting it by inserting a paperclip into the reset hole on the side of the player, just under the on/off switch

SOURCE: zen v plus 8g

If you already try both reset, then try doing a firmware update.

On computer try unplugging computer power cable, and if it is a laptop also remove battery, this sort out problems related with electrostatic charges on computer USB ports.

My Zen V Plus is really screwed up

Sounds like a similar problem I had today.

My Creative Zen V Plus wasn't recognised by my PC, then it wouldn't even switch on.

Following the solution of another similar problem on here I fixed it. Connect your Zen via USB to your computer and press the reset button. Should spring to life and start re-building your library. I am as I type adding new tracks to mine :))

My zen touch is frozen. I can push the reset button. It then rebuilds the library and goes to play the same song ever time but does not due anything. It remains frozen and non of the buttons work. John

Since the reset does not work using the reset hole, then try this: First, back up all of your music and do this: Turn off the player and disconnect it from the computer. Then press and hold the play/puse button and turn it on simultaneously. The player should be in recovery mode. Scroll down and select format (all) and let it format. Then reload all of music back onto your player and it should work like new. Hope this helps!

Frozen mp3

What model is this? I was going to suggest a hard reset or reformat if it is continually locking. Simply resetting it isn't stopping whatever is making it freeze up to go away, so it's time for more drastic measures. Hopefully you can still save your music and connect it to your PC before you have to wipe it out.

Here is a link to a similiar situation with a Zen that might help from our very own fixya archives.

Hopefully something there will help.

Zen frozen

Go to recovery mode, and do a disk clean up. If that doesnt work, then you might have to format it.

Did you reset it properly? To reset your zen, put a pen head in the hole under the power button for 20 seconds
