Make sure your frequency is no higher than 80 on the low and 120 on the high. Check speaker polarity with a AA battery(Speaker pops out when polarity is correct) Make sure the speaker crossovers are working properly. Check your ohm load when you connect the speakers together with a multimeter at the amp. Ohms that are too low = heat. See what your amp is rated for. After all that, turn the gain down all the way, turn up the volume to 25-28 and readjust the gains

SOURCE: Power Protection Circuit (SORT) Engaged

Umm a ohm meter would help you here. Double check the wires from the sub to the amp...make sure its not shorting out. Try starting the amp without the wires on the terminals...if the protection shows up then there is a short inside the unit and it will need to be replaced/repaired.

SOURCE: I have a 2channell FE-402 fusion amp,with a fusion

Hello jackstephens,

It's an either/or situation. The FE-402 can be set up to drive normal speakers in stereo, OR drive a sub when both channels are bridged. When the LP filter is on, it benefits the sub at the expense of the normal speakers. And with the filter off, the subs get the full range of frequencies and try as best they can to reproduce them. You might try running it with the LP on, in stereo with the 6X9's paralleled to one channel (2ohm load), and the sub connected to the other channel (?ohm load).

But my recommendation would be to use the Fusion amp the drive the 6X9's and get a dedicated monoblock for the sub.

Hope this helps.

Over time the TV volume and the SurroundBar volume get out of sync and we keep having to manually adjust the SurroundBar volume to match them up. We are currently using the DirectTV remote to control

Unfortunately, the system does not work well around other wireless devices. When watching Blu-rays and listening to music, the system works fine, but when I play my Wii or Xbox 360 the subwoofer loses its connection to the bar and stops working. Sometimes I can play for up to an hour without the sub going out of sync, but it always ends up happening. Many times and several times in a row it would immediately go after sync right after I fixed the problem. Polk lists the wireless sub as a feature but it's actually the worst part of the package for anyone with other wireless devices in the same room.

Check the online link to the PDF for more information about sync instructions. http://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutchfield.com/Manuals/107/107SB6KIHT.PDF

Speakers cutting in and out at high volume

The amp is going into protect on the two channels powering the speakers. Turn down the gain on those two channels. You also may want to consider crossing over the speakers a little higher than they are now.

The rating on those speakers are way too high. 6.5's and 6x9's will take 50-100 clean watts tops before they start to break up.

The best solution to get it perfect is....unplug the subs. Turn the gain on the speaker channels all the way down. Then turn up the deck 80% as high as it will go. Play a song. Then increase the gain on the amp until the speakers are as load as they go without distortion. Shut off the car, replugg in the subs and do the same thing. Gain on sub channels all the way down, deck then to 80%, find a bass heavy song, then turn gain up until subs become distorted. If you do this procedure your speakers and subs will be "gain matched" to the proper levels.

Good Luck

I just bought a cvr kicker 10' sub, hooked it up in my car replaceing a polk audio sub. The kicker keeps blowing my fuse. i have checked the wireing. i have an 800watt sony xplode amp. Please help

i am assuming that you bought this sub used? their could be a problem with your voice coil. the voice coil moves the cone of the speaker in and out. the problem with the voice coil is that it has become lose and is doping the impedance of the sub. A lose voice coil can be cause by over powering the sub. this problem is not fix able.
