Ringing everywhere it rings on all extensions including the console. practically it suppose to ring on the console only. but now it rings on the console and the other extensions as well

  • Anonymous May 23, 2009

mr.carl i have the same problem. I called somebody before and gave instructions thru phone and we removed the ring from other extensions when there is an incoming call. Now I added new phone and Im having the same problem again. All I can do is regret why I didn't wrote it down (instructions) or remember it, because I can't contact that person again.

If it used to work and stopped, I'm guessing the system is no longer in the DAY mode. Each system tends to program differently and the 7730 phone can be plugged into one of about 18 different Panasonic systems.

From the main phone, try dialing 780#. If it beeps and says DAY MODE, it was the right command :-) Now test the lines and see if that fixed it.

If it doesn't work, please go to the phone closet/back room/attic/whatever and grab the model number of the phone SYSTEM and post back.

Comdial edge 120 incoming call handling help

It seems like you're trying to configure a phone system or a specific phone to have incoming calls ring on multiple extensions simultaneously or forward to another extension if not answered. The exact steps can vary depending on the phone system or model you're using. If you provide more details about the phone system or model, I can offer more accurate instructions. In the absence of specific information, here's a general guide on how you might achieve this:
**For Most Phone Systems:**
1. **Ring All Extensions:**
- Log in to the phone system's administration interface.
- Locate the call forwarding or call distribution settings.
- Look for options related to "Hunt Group," "Ring Group," "Call Distribution," or similar terms.
- Create a group that includes the extensions you want the incoming calls to ring on.
- Assign the group a number or label.
- Configure incoming calls to be forwarded to the assigned group number or label.
2. **Forward After Rings/No Answer:**
- Within the same settings area, look for options related to "Call Forwarding" or "Follow Me."
- Configure the settings to forward calls to another extension or voicemail after a certain number of rings or if there's no answer.
**Example for Asterisk-based Systems (such as FreePBX):**
1. **Ring All Extensions:**
- Log in to the FreePBX administration interface.
- Create a Ring Group.
- Add the extensions you want to include in the group.
- Set the Ring Strategy to "Ringall" or "Ring All Available."
- Specify the Ring Time (how long it should ring on each extension).
- Save the settings.
2. **Forward After Rings/No Answer:**
- Create a Follow Me setting.
- Add the destination extension(s).
- Set the Ring Time (how many seconds it should ring).
- Configure the Follow Me List to go to the next destination if there's no answer.
- Save the settings.
Please note that terminology and options might differ based on your phone system's manufacturer and model. It's important to consult your phone system's documentation or seek help from your IT department or phone system administrator if you're not familiar with the settings or if you're dealing with a complex setup.
Keep in mind that making changes to a phone system's configuration can impact its functionality, so it's a good practice to do so during non-peak hours or with proper testing to ensure everything works as expected.

Norstar meridian 7208 won't ring.

Does it ring when you move it to a known ringing port? Is it programmed to ring (Terminals & Sets) Appear and Ring? Do you have Automatic Set Relocation turned on so the extension number stays with the phone?

There are a lot of features to check for ringing, including the volume of the set.

On 308 pansonic pbx (kx-t7730), when the incoming call rings all the extension phone and the master (PT or operating console)phone rings.so please help me to make it ring only on the master.thanks

When you take this unit out of the box, you get programming instructions. One of them is the ringing (program 408) for day mode. (409/410 for night and lunch). By default, all phones ring on all lines in all 3 modes. You have to remove the ring to make it go away.

My phones only light up on my panassonic business phones

If you have a PTPM or the maintenance console, you can program ringing. It's a dealer only product in the U.S. Incoming calls are made to ring ICD (incoming call distribution) groups where the ringing is controlled per extension. In our version, even the manager does not have access to that level of system programming.

How do I set phone to ring at my extention?

Partner, all releases.
Examples
Receptionist Call Routing. If you want calls to be answered by the receptionist first, set the lines at the receptionist’s extension to Immediate Ring and the lines at the users’ extensions to No Ring. (This is the factory setting)
Receptionist Backup. If you want all calls on a line to ring directly at users’ extensions -with the receptionist providing backup -set the line at the users’ extensions to Immediate Ring. Then set the line (or lines) at the receptionist’s extension to Delayed Ring. An incoming call that is not answered by a user within 20 seconds will also ring at the receptionist’s extension.
Programming
To change the way outside lines or pools ring at an extension:
  1. Press [ Feature ] [ 0 ] [ 0 ] [ System Program ] [ System Program ] [ Central Tel Program ].
  2. Enter the number of the extension to be programmed for Line Ringing. The green lights next to the line or pool buttons on the phone show the current Line Ringing settings for all lines assigned to the extension. (If a line is not assigned to a button, the green light next to the button is off.) The following ringing options can be shown by the green light next to the line button.
    • Immediate Ring - on steady
    • Delayed Ring - flashes slowly
    • No Ring - flutters quickly
  3. To change Line Ringing for any line, press the line or pool button until the button light shows the correct setting (the setting for the currently selected line or pool also appears on the display).
  4. Continue programming or exit programming mode.

Incoming calls ring 3 times at main extension, then phone stops ringing at main & rolls over to ring at all other phones. Phone rings once at those extensions before going to voicemail. (We have...

Your voicemail thinks that it is ringing six times. The time that it takes to transfer to the extensions counts. Whiloe it seems that there is a lapse the system actually is using enough time to ring six times total. If you need longer ring time at the extension, take in account the transfer time and set it to pick up after 8 or 9 rings. It will actually only ring six. You just have to trick the system a little.
