What does the blue light mean? I had 4 Ionic breeze air cleaners, ionizer wires are broken. I was thinking about buying the Ionic Pro cleaners, but have no input about how well they work.

SOURCE: Can't clean Ionic Pro CA-500 inside?

This unit is a pain in the @$$ to disassemble but it CAN be done. The way I always look at it: Someone ASSEMBLED it.

Remove the four screws on the bottom stand followed by two screws on the bottom side of the unit. Then remove the tiny little screws up each side that hold the grill together (you will need a precision screwdriver).

Carefully pull apart- don't force it.

One half comes off (clean that half) in bathtub. The other half does not come off-vacuum that half out and use q-tips.

When re-assembling, watch for two things: First the wire cleaner (that slides) runs on a track on each half- pull it out a little to best allow for fitting. Second, there are little tabs at the top that fit under the control panel-watch for those.

email me at [email protected] if any problems.

If the plates are clean, there is nothing wrong with them. They are just 3 strips of metal... they don't even connect to each other unless they are in the unit. NO NEED TO REPLACE THEM.

You need to clean all the stainless steel contact points inside the unit, not just the blades. Make sure you unplug the unit before doing this.

Yes, a new portion of wire can be put in place of the broken wire.

Makes buzzing sound after cleaning blades

I keep the blades clean. Really clean. I'm a smoker, and you would not believe the crud that accumulates on those "blades"... <g>

First, I spray the blades with "PurplePower" cleaner/degreaser (from AutoZone), then I wipe them down with a sponge, then rinse with hot water. then dry them with compressed air (I have a compressor...).

FWIW, "Windex" works pretty good too, but... the degreaser really works well on the cigarette "residue"..

Second, there are two long wires inside that also have to be cleaned, periodically.

If your unit has the "pull-tab" cleaner, use it. One of my units has it. The other two don't.

On the ones that don't have the built-in cleaner, I stick a chopstick in through the rear vents, and CAREFULLY rub it against the sides of those wires, which "scrapes" the "white crud" off of the wires. Take your time. You will likely have to "change locations" several times in order to access the full length of both wires.

NOTE: those wires are fairly durable, but BE CAREFUL with them.

Either way, after cleaning the wires, I then "blow" the unit clean with compressed air.

Voila! No more buzzing. Until the next time the wires get "crudded up".

My Ionic Breeze air purifier makes an intermittent static noise when operating. What could be the cause and how can I fix it.

you need to turn it off and remove plates, put in kitchen sink and spray with windex and dry with paper towels, now clean the bottom of the three plates too.
before you reinstall the plates look down inside you will see three thin lines of metal, make sure there is no lint or dust on them, reinstall and let set for five min. to allow any windex that might still be wet then turn on low for a couple of min.then go to medium

Ionic pro problem

Try cleaning the springs the the blades connect to, they're probably making a bad connection due to dirty springs.
