How did you install the head unit? Did you use a wire harness adapter or do it yourself? How are the connections made? It could be several things so more information is needed. Is the sound present with the volume off and coming from all speakers or just one? Does it get louder the more your turn the volume up?

SOURCE: i am getting a DC error on my alpine cde-102 head

Hello christo12385,

The DC error is most likely caused by a shorted or grounded speaker wire. Check all speaker wires, correct the problem, and then go into the sound setup settings and reset the POWER IC to ON.

Hope this helps.

Is 1998 taurus compatible with alpine cde-9852

Hello, you can install this head unit into the taurus as long as you are confident in wiring the unit in yourself. the colour wires from the car WILL NOT match the colours from the CD player, although a experienced installer will be able to splice the wires together in the orrect way to make it work!
I hope this helpsRegardsGrant

I have a CDE-9872 and it wont pick up my ipod touch

Add Alpine's optional "Full Speed" connection cable and you'll be able to use the CDE-9872 to control your iPod. -Crutchfields website

This is compatible with first and second generation iPods touch.
fyi- if you have a mini-stereo aux in jack on the deck you can connect a ipod touch compatible mini stereo cable to the earphone jack of your ipod.

Loud engine noise through speakers

Jadrian - I purchased a DEH-P780MP and have the exact same sound. My suond however increases in pitch throughout the RPM range and is audible when operating the headunit on ACC. I have found this problem to being typical in Checy Sports cars since I can swap this head unit out from my camaro SS into my Mustang Saleen and the sound disappears. The same is true for a swap into my SUV. Never quite figured it out! I think the 12V line from the fusebox or from the battery itself doesn't have "clean" power.

Humming from speakers when CD player running

Yes, The humming is always there you just can hear it better when the cd is playing. The humming is caused by the electrical system in your car. There is an inline filter you can buy and insert it between the car's power source and the head unit. I had a head unit I bought that was absolutly terrible until I installed that filter. Also if you did a do it yourself job on your amp wiring it is usually best practice to run your RCA cables on the opposite side of the car as your power cable. You can also purchase shielded spark plug wires which is a source of noise usually of a different kind tho. First make sure you have a good ground. This means that you have grounded your amp to bare metal not painted metal. If that didn't work put in the inline filter on the head deck as they are only $20 available at radioshack. If that doesn't work, go back an wire your car right this time and put the power and RCA on opposite sides of the car. If you still have that hum it may be the spark plug wires but that sounds more like static than hum. You have a text book case of alternator hum... Hack
