We bought an Alpine XM

Friend,
What I found from the net is this site that can get it activated on your set. Please follow the instructions therein and it may work for you. All you need is your XM radio ID, which I am sure you have.

Radio/CD player has power -gets no sound

unplug the radio harness and check for ground on all the speaker lead's. if there is ground on a speaker wire then there is a problem on that particular speaker and if you disconnect all the other speaker should work if not then i would assume the actual unit is defective

1998 honda civic lx manual , how to remove stereo

Kind of a pain in the ****, but you have to remove the panel under the radio controls ( where the cigarete lighter is) to do this youll also have to remove the console around the shifter, then after thats removed you have to look up under the dash where the radio is, and theres some 10mm bolts you have to remove, after there out u can stick your hand up there and push the radio forward

No idea how to connect an iPod!

You need to buy an extra cable that connects to the back of the radio, it is ipod ready but you need buy the cable. The front USB port is just for mp3 or mp4 players that you can connect via a USB port.

Hi guys..i installed a pioneer 3050ub head unit on

check your earthing point, this must be within 12 inches of the amp, make sure the power cable is good quality cable and is run to the battery and away from any other wires. If you still have interference then do you have cheap amplifiers, this is one of the problems i see when people buy cheap stuff.

My usb car stereo dosnt play all the songs on my kingston

Not every car stereo can play every song in a usb.

This deppends on how many songs and how many folders you have in your USB, regardless of the USB's capacity. My car stereo for example, can only play about 50 songs pero folder and i think it tops at 9 folders.

Try to organize your music in folders and change the names of the songs taking every "·$&%/&$/)(=)(( Symbol and non regular character out.

Or better, get your car's manual and it might say how many songs it can play. i think mine cant read over 1.5gb. if it doesnt say, you just have to try and work with it till you get it figured out.

The last thing i try and it might work:
Cut everything out of your USB, format it and then paste everything back this refreshes the USB and sometimes it works.

Sorry about my english.

I have an old Kenwood KRC 2001 cassette radio

red is battery. some have two red wires, but they are both battery(12 volts). it is a switchable 12 volts which means it comes on when you start car. yellow is a constant 12 volts. it is for memory. blue is for power antenna(ive never used it. i keep blue wire disconnected) then you have the set of colored wires like green and gray stripe. those are speaker wires. match it with its other color coded wire. example.....brown with yellow stripe wire goes with the brown wire to connect speaker. enjoy

I bought this car that has the vm9512hd and it

NO way to bypass, its a safety feature that is activated when the radio is removed to prevent anyone who takes the radio from using it. You can go to a stereo shop and they might be able to help but will be a charge to do so...

Electric shock when leaving car

Although it's possible that there is an electrical problem in your car, it's more likely that the shock you're feeling is naturally occurring static electricity.

If your tires were replaced as part of the front end repairs, it's possible this is the cause. Cars naturally build up static electricity from rolling around on rubber tires (the same thing that happens when you rub a balloon on your hair). This static used to get dissipated through the tires to the ground -- however, new, fuel-saving tires with lower rolling resistance are made of a rubber compound that doesn't dissipate static electricity as well as the old stuff. (The price we pay for better gas mileage.)

The static builds up in your car, and then gets discharged through you when you get out of the car and complete a circuit between the car and the ground through your body.

One solution is to attach a ground strap to your car. You can buy these rubber strips from most auto parts stores. One end attaches to a metal part on your car. The other end drags on the ground and dissipates static through it, rather than through you.
