The GM300 is dealer programmable using Motorola proprietary software, a programming cable and radio interface box (rib). (Or on some models a ribless cable). I will continue to look for a user guide pdf. If I locate one I will post it.

Build your own programming RIB cable. Tested with Motorola Radius 1200 GP 680 series two way radios.I usually solder the wires to the side connector of the radio. (do not connect more than one radio in the same time as you can see it on the picture) for more information contact: atosmaximus AT gmail.com good luck. :-)Hello Guys..how to channelize my 2way Radio Motoro - 5_7_2012_2_19_57_pm.gif

To be able to program this radio which covers VHF frequency from 130 - 300 Mhz you need a programming cable and programming console or a hand held version of motorola which is H-16 you can program gm300 by interconnecting it to H-16 via serial comm. using prgmming cable, post again if i'll find my manual ok... or u can visit an authorized two-way radio repair shop.

HEllo, I have a Motorola Radius CP200. When I

If the sound is continuous, like a long tone humming, it is possible you are on a channel which is not programmed. Try changing your channel knob to a different channel and see if the sound changes.

If the sound is not continous, and only happens upon pressing a button, we are not certain what you are experiencing without seeing the radio first hand.

If it were the battery you would get a low battery beep and then the radio would shut itself down. This can happen from a bad battery or a low battery. If this were the situation, you should check your charger and be certain the light comes on and stays on when the radio is placed on the charger. (Note: your radio should always be turned off when on the charger.) A quick test would be to swap the battery with a known good radio and see if you have the same problem. If so, you know it is not a battery or charging problem.

If none of these items help, send or bring the radio to a Motorola repair shop for a quick analysis.

Best regards.

How do i program my radfius sp50

Take it to a Motorola 2-Way Radio Dealer. They will determine if the channels you want to use can be programmed into that older model radio.

The Radius SP50 is no longer supported by Motorola so software and programming cradle are no longer available.

How to get a Talkabout T5720 to communicate with a

The frequency range and operatngmode of the two radios are compatible. To get the Radius operating on a GMRS channel you'll need a Motorola programming cable and software, OR a trip to a Motorola dealer for frequency programming. Considering the cost involved, the 2-watt output of the Radius, and the 1-watt output of the Talkabout, you would be better off performance and cost wise buying a pair of 5-watt GMRS portables.

How can i tell if i have a UHF radio or VHF radio

You can use the model number to tell if you are VHF or UHF. You will still need to know the frequency(s) and PL code(s) your radios have to get radios to match.

VHF model number starts with P93.
UHF model number starts with P94.

The current replacement radio for the SP50 is the CP200. It is construction grade and was made to replace the SP50. There are other radios which will also match the SP50 including (but not limited to) the BPR40 and the new CP185.

Dont know what the buttons on the front of the Motorola Radius sp50.

Hello Peedi Krack,

There are two buttons on the front of the Motorola SP50.

MON - This key is a Monitor button. It temporarily disables the squelch control so you can hear any muted or weak signals being sent on the channel. This enables you to ensure the channel is clear before you transmit.

OPT - This button controls Optional functions that might be programmed into the radio, such as channel scan.

Additionally your radio might also have a DTMF keypad (similar to a telephone keypad) depending on which version of the SP50. If installed, the DTMF keypad would be used for signaling and controlling devices over the air.

Best Regards,
Ken
