When I go on my xbox 360 and try signing in to xbox live it tells me to first accept the new terms of use, when I click to view the new terms of use it comes up saying your parent must accept this before you can connect o xbox live. And my step dad is refusing as him and my mum got divorced. What do I do?

Sorry about the divorce. I do not have any living parents so you may be the lucky one. It sounds like the system may be recognising that you are trying to connect using your parents account. Xbox is a subscriber account I believe. I have PS3 which is a free account. But I understand that a subscriber account has a few more security factors as it involves money. So if they suspect that a person is trying to use the account but is not the account holder then they may block access regaudless of circustances. If you have right of access to the use of the Xbox then you could consider staring your own account. Then you can authorise any changes your self with out the need for verification from the account holder as you are then the account holder. I could use my account on any PS3 but any one can not use my account. It is just the account parts which are locked to the account holder. So if he/she does not allow then access is not allowed. If you had your own account you could open it and use it (I believe) on any Xbox as it is the account which is locked and not the Xbox. So trying to access the On-line part requires signing in as it is only accessible to the account holder or those he allows. My PS3 has an option to add more users to my account. It may be so with the Xbox. If your parent just does not want you using his account then that account is not available to you. Sorry but things like that sometimes happens to some people. I do not know your age and your parent may be concerned about allowing access whilst he is not there. I am older than eighteen so I do not need my parents permission to have my own account. It may be that you may have your own account at sixteen or less. But I beieve the Xbox requires a yearly payment. I do not know if I have been of help. But I hope I have.

SOURCE: XBOX 360 LIVE Won't Connect

Is the modem also a router?
You need to login to the IP address of your device... if the modem is only a modem, try going to your own IP address.

http://whatismyip.com will help you find it. This may bring you into the settings of the modem. If it is a router as well, then you will need to go to your default gateway's IP address.

Go to start, then run.
Type cmd, then click ok.
type 'ipconfig' and hit enter. Look for your Default Gateway
type that ip into your browser (IE/Firefox/whatever) and login
adjust the MTU to recommended settings. If its at 1500, try 1364 of 1492

My xbox is connected to the internet and says i am signed in but it wont let me redeem xbox live membership by credit card or store bought card it is giving me a status code 80169d3a. what should i do?

This is occurring because your Xbox is trying to use your old credit card information and not the new code you are submitting. Clear the data by logging into xbox.com and removing all your previous credit card information or by calling xbox support. Hope that helps.

The game disk I put into the Xbox 360 won't boot up.... It's says open tray on the screen every time.

Hi.

The lens unit has miss-aligned and may need to be readjusted so it will read the disks again. To do this you will need to open the Xbox360 up.
If the xbox is still under warranty then I suggest that you send it in to Microsoft to sort out. To do this please follow the instuctions below >>>

  1. Go to www.xbox.com and sign in with your Windows LIVE ID. Your Windows LIVE ID is the email address and password that you used to set up your Gamertag on xbox Live.
  2. Click the "Register a new console" button to register your xbox gaming console.
  3. Enter the serial number for your xbox console, which can be found on the back of the console, as well as your name and address. Click "Submit" when finished.
  4. Click "View Warranty Status" to view the warranty status of the xbox that you just registered. A pop-up window will open that will tell you if your warranty has expired and on what date it expired or will expire.

If is not under warrant then click on the link below for instructions on how to readjust the lens.

Cant use facebook entered wrong dob on setup

Okay, since an Xbox live account takes it's information from Windows Live, this is what you have to do:

Go to Hotmail.com
Sign in using your Xbox Live account e-mail and password

If you're not already signed up for mail, don't worry about it. Click view contacts if you're not already signed up.

In the top right corner click options
click More options
Click View and Edit Your Personal Information
Click Registered Information
Change your birthdate
click Save

Your age is changed!
This may or may not be enough

If it is: HURRAY! If not: read on

Sign on to your xbox 360
Open the guide menu
Go over to System setup
Go to Account Information
Click Promote Child Account
It will ask if you want to connect to Xbox Live
It will then take you to the account setup
Click continue
Then You will need to enter Credit card information. It is supposed to be a new one.
You need to accept a new terms of use then follow the prompts.
Next it will bring you back to the dashboard (you will be signed out) Sign in, accept the terms of use again, and you're all set. Have fun!

I am incredibly frustrated. I have been trying for hours to simply join silver xbox live, and it times out every damn time. I need to connect my xbox 360 with my wireless internet and can't do that either....

setting up xbox live is a very simple method and can be done easily if you follow the step by step process on the xbox. First of all, Xbox Live requires a high-speed Internet connection. There are many different videos on youtube that show you how to get an internet connection on the 360 even if you dont want to by a 100$ adapter or run a wire throughout your house. after you get a connection you can follow this process:

after you get a connection you can follow this process:
1. On the Gamer Profile screen, select I Want to Join Xbox Live and then press A. 2. Scroll to the Join Xbox Live option and press A. 3. Select Yes and press A to continue. 4. Enter your gamertag and press Start. Xbox Live checks the availability of your selected gamertag: • If the name isn't available, you're prompted to try another name. • If the gamertag is accepted, you are automatically prompted to link to your Passport account. 5. Select your current Passport account status: • Yes, I do(you have a Passport account). • After you sign in to an existing Passport account, you can skip to Step 16. • No, Create One(you don't have a Passport account). 6. If you select No, Create One, you can now choose your Locale. 7. Set your preferred language. 8. Set your birth date. 9. Enter your e-mail address. 10. Select a password, a secret question, and a secret answer. 11. Select Next and then press A. 12. Enter your first name, last name, phone number, and contact e-mail address. 13. Read the Terms of Use. 14. To accept the terms, choose Accept and press A. If you don't accept the Terms of Use, you can't create an Xbox Live account. 15. Pick your Xbox Live membership type. When creating a new Xbox Live account, you have two basic choices: • The Gold (paid) account lets you in on multiplayer games on Xbox Live. • The Silver (free) account lets you download game updates and purchase new content through Xbox Live. 16. Confirm your account type choice (and enter payment details if you chose Xbox Gold). 17. Choose a gamer picture. 18. Choose your level. 19. Decide whether you want to subscribe to e-mail information about Xbox Live
