Greetings! I have a SanDisk M2 memory card for my Sony Ericsson T700 and I encounter problems when I tried to reformat it recently. I reformat all the memory cards I had on pc and laptop and I had no problems with it. The thing is my phone prompted me that I need to reformat my files and I clicked no as I don't think that something is wrong with the storage device. The notice would show up every time I would turn my phone on and every time I would insert my memory card back in my phone. When I tried formatting it last week through the computer, it would say that 'Windows is unable to complete format." I tried it the following day but the card reader I used got issues and it failed to read my M2. Thinking that it was the card reader that was faulty, I tried formatting it through my phone but it asks for a phone code. Since the phone is second hand and that my mom does not remember the code anymore, I cannot format it through the phone. I tried Master Reset on the phone but it did not work. My brother borrowed a card reader and it read the M2. The thing is that I could copy from the memory card but I could not transfer files to it. I tried formatting it again but it says "Windows is unable to complete format." I tried the regedit, installing softwares that could format storage devices and said that my device is write protected, HDD low level format and an error occurred , cmd, and even restarting the computer into safe mode with a command prompt and it only said that it is a bad disk. I even tried disk partition managers but to no avail. also tried looking for the "switch" but my memory card doesn't have one. I never met such problems as I had formatted the same M2 device into the same computer many times until this. Please, I need your help. There is no important files anymore as I was able to copy them all. Thank you!

Hmm.. Wired. Since you will be using it on thenPhone try formating it from the phone. any way if does not format on the phone, insert back to te computer, left click on my computer go to manage, click disk managment & see if you can see the SD there try formatting from there
SOURCE: i did a reformat but still my phone cannot detect the memory card
1. If your memory card can be detected on your computer, then try to completely format the card.
2. Goto Start >> My Computer >> Right-Click the memory card icon >> Format >> Uncheck the Quick Format option >>
Start >> OK / Yes (confirm the request!).
3. If the memory card cannot be detected / readed by your PC, phone, or camera, then that card has become corrupt / unrepairable!
4. You should replace that memory card with a compatible one!
please rate this advice if it helps...tc! :)
SOURCE: how to format my corrupted
If you a using a card reader that plugs into your PC and it STILL doesn't read from the card, this means that the card itself is defective and needs to replaced. You CAN try using another card reader to see if that helps.
Hope this helps. :)
