Location sleep button

It's actually very easy, once you know how to do it. Click and hold down the Sleep/Wake button (located on the upper-right corner of your iPad). While you're holding down the Sleep/Wake button, hold down the Home button as well (located on the front of your iPad at the bottom).
Hold down both buttons until your iPad powers off. It will reboot and start again with a small silver Apple image on the screen. It takes about 30 seconds for the iPad completely start up.

1. Launch iTunes and connect the iPhone to your PC or Mac.

2. Press and hold the Home button and the "Sleep/Wake" button (located at top left corner of the phone's body) at the same time.

3. As the screen turns Black, release the "Sleep/Wake" button while still holding the home button, until iTunes displays a message telling you that it has detected an iPhone in "Recovery Mode."

sometimes due to downloaded applications the iphone screen freezes or refuses to function . these are step by step instructions to restart your iphone without loosing your precious data.

2 locate the home button ( which is on the bottom of the screen)
locate the sleep button ( which is on the upper right hand edge)

3 press both the home and sleep button together for 10 seconds.
the phone will switch off.
wait for 5 mins and press the sleep button to turn your phone on.

It's a Fn key combination on the keyboard.
Press and hold the Fn key down and then press the key with the crescent moon icon it.

This is the equivalent of the sleep button.

If something isn't working right, restarting, force quitting an application, or resetting
iPhone will likely solve the problem.
Restart iPhone: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and
hold the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears.
If you can't turn off iPhone or if the problem continues, you may need to reset. A reset
should be done only if turning iPhone off and on doesn't resolve the problem.
Force quit an application: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top of iPhone
for a few seconds until a red slider appears, and then press and hold the Home button
until the application quits.
Reset iPhone: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the
same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

hmmm is it your monitor going to sleep..or the machine? might the computer still be running?
if it's the computer go to power setting and change to your pref

Setting the Sleep Timer The sleep timer allows your LCD TV to automatically turn OFF after a given amount of time. You can set the sleep timer using your remote control or through the onscreen display (OSD).
TO SET THE SLEEP TIMER USING THE REMOTE CONTROL
1. Press the SLEEP button on the remote control. The sleep timer appears at
the top of your screen.
2. Press the SLEEP button one or more times to select the time you want.
3. Press the EXIT button to hide the sleep timer display. Your sleep timer is now running in the background. The sleep timer will be hidden after 10 seconds.
Turning On the LCD TV.
1. Press the MAIN POWER switch in the back of the unit (see Back Connectors for location). The Status LED on the front turns orange
and your LCD TV is ready to turn on.
2. Press the POWER button on the front of your LCD TV or on your
remote control. The Status LED on the front turns green.

There is an On Display Menu (ODM). You can access it by pushing the button located on the monitor. Use +- buttons to navigate in the menu. Here you can switch off the sleep mode or change the sleep settings. I have a simular problem... I try to turn off the power save function but it seems like it dosen´t want to understand this...
