Laptop stops loading after password screen...

It should do provided they are the same size, and have the same connections on the back, the easiest way is to remove the bezel (screen surround) and look at the connections on the back of the screen, if they look the same there is a good chance it will fit and work

you shouldn't of installed it because if you would of ran the windows 7 compatibility thing that is on the disc, it would say that your computer is incompatible. You should buy another copy of windows xp and install that.

Try uninstalling from Device Manager & Reboot. Then it will should re-detect, after bootup, it and reinstall itself, hopefully now it will work.

if it doesnt hold a charge its degraded and will need to be replaced . people dont realise that keeping a laptop plugged in damages the battery

You can try reseating the LCD cable but the issue is most likely a LCD failure (Replacement of the LCD required)

It may have been exposed to direct sunlight, if so it may be unfixable
