Fujifilm finepix A345 4.1

Sometimes when I try to switch the camera on it won't go on even after putting in brand new batteries so very frustrating is this a common fault any solutions. I have put in different makes of batteries nothing leave for a while and it sometims does work anybody else have this problem - thanks

You may also find it worth checking the battery contacts inside the battery housing.Use a torch and check they are reflective.They can become tarnished and corroded and increase resistance in the battery circuit.

An intermittant fault with the switch seems likely Check Fuji support, but if they want to make a charge it may be worth buying the next camera

It takes 4 x AA batteries. Are the battery contacts on the compartment door, and the battery contacts in the base of the compartment clean and shiny. Usually when batteries leak, they cause oxidization on the metal.

The camera does have very specific requirements.

Batteries are required to operate the digital camera. At
first, load the batteries in the camera.
Compatible batteries
AA-size alkaline batteries (4) or AA-size Ni-MH
rechargeable batteries (4) (sold separately)
CAUTION
• Never use the following types of
batteries, as they could cause
serious problems such as battery
fluid leakage or overheating:
1. Batteries with split or peeling
outer casings
2. Combinations of different
types of batteries or new and used batteries together
• Do not use manganese, Ni-Cd or lithium batteries.
• Use the same brand and grade AA-size alkaline
batteries as those supplied with the camera.

And on the next page it shows the polarity two up, and two down. If those weren't correct, you would be on reduced power.

Look at the memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

I put new batteries in and the green light turns on but then it shuts off and deosnt turn back on

Often I have found with modern digital cameras of all brans is that generic batteries no longer have the power to made them run, so even brand new generic batteries will not start the camera.
the solution is you always must buy the expensive brands or invest in a rechargeahle battery system for AA batteries, which mine takes the best. So try that out. I think u will find that money does make a difference

Actually, it may be the batterys. Even top brands like Energiser can have unbelievably short battery life if they are not NiMh! Go onto the FujiFilm website and find the batteries they recommend
