My dvdr/rw wont burn dvds properly

There are many reason for this.Try following steps to look out for solution.

1>Use better quality Dvd to burn .DVDs are just a few cents worth of plastic, manufactured in massive quantities. Sometimes you end up with a bad disk or a bad batch. Try a new disk, or a whole new brand, and you may have more luck burning your DVDs

2>Dust in your DVD burner can prevent it from burning DVDs correctly. Buy a lens cleaning disk and use it in your DVD burner drive. This can clean things up and give you a clean, successful burn.

3>For better quality burn at slow speed. It’s always tempting to burn DVDs at the highest speed possible. In theory, you’ll save time and can get more DVDs burned. In practice, though, higher speeds can result in unreliable burns.
Slow things down and set your DVDs to burn at 4x or even 2x. This may eliminate errors.
I hope this will solve your problem.

Hello my samsung sh-s182 dvd -+rw doual very slow burn [email protected]

First look and see the write speed of the drive. 1x to 4x is slow but recommended by all programs and this is initially the default settings for most programs. You must goto the settings of your dvd burning program and set the burn rate to 16x or higher.

I was also suffering this problem with Nero 6. To solve your Problem first make sure that the windows you are using that supports your Software if supports, then your Optical Drive may not Write in high speed 16x or 18x, write your files in DVD in little bit slow speed, after doing all this if it gives same problem then Please reinstall your windows you are using.

Low burn speed

I had the same problem before upgrading my RAM. Seems video burning software like nero are RAM hogs; if you do not have a large amount of RAM then it slowers the burning speed down to a crawl.[ BTW I didn't get maximum burning speeds using nero on a Windows Vista computer until I upgraded to 2 GB RAM] Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer.

Cant write DVDs with my DVD+RW RW8165 Drive

your drive may not be compatible with -rw disks. Try using +rw. They are totally different.

also i am having a similar issue with vista with burning dvds. I have to set it on 4x or it fails around 90 % up to 99%. Lower your max burn speed.

Slow Writer

Hey there dhruvr, your problem is minor. Even though your DVD drive has max speed of 16X, the software you use to burn can vary this according to their default setting. ranging from 4-16 times. You can change these by opening the extra option boxes, when you are burning, or going into the settings for each of your burning programs. You should only have to do this once. It will remember your last setting. Good Luck!
