  • Chazwel Nov 19, 2007

Same problem, stovetop works but oven does not. Opened up the back to look for a fuse, the only thing I can find is a black round looking thing with 2 black wires connected to it, is this the fuse? Check all connections, they are tight and nothing looks burnt up. Any ideas?

The oven quit working, burners and broiler were ok though. When plugged in and not in use, unit "beeps" and flashes F 6 in digital panel. Service guy came and replaced "Glo-bar" in bottom of oven, and now oven works. However, still beeps when plugged in and not in use. Service guy couldn't fix the beeping.

I have some issues on my Whirlpool electric range. Model RF262LXST. The cooktop works fine but the oven stopped working 5 to 10 minutes after pressing the START button.

Here is the detail of the issues. Please give me some feedback and advice. Thanks in advance!

Bake function problem: Turned Bake on, oven became hot, after 5 to 10 minutes, oven display blank or flashing (sometimes with flashing clock time, sometimes just blank)

Broil function problem: Turned Broil on, then pushed oven light button once, oven display turned off automatically

I had to turn on one of the cooktop elements to bring the oven display back on. The oven failed again in a few minutes when using Bake or Broil.

I have a GE JBP30 electric range. When I try to turn on the oven, only the top broiler element comes on. The oven "on" light stays on all the time. It also won't display the temperature. Sometimes I can get it to work, but in the middle of baking it will switch to broil and ruin the food.

Oven flashes F3 error and quits working. Have tried all the troubleshooting suggestions of GE, including turning breaker off and resetting, to no avail.

I have two problems with my hotpoint gas range. First, the stove top ignitor doesn't work anymore. I can't hear the clicking sound as soon as I turn on the switch. I have to use a match to light a fire.

Secondly, the oven doesn't work at all. Seems like no gas coming out from the burner. My gas range is only 3 years old and the oven is seldom used. My friend and I tried to fix the problems for hours but were unsuccessful. Is there anything you can help us? ps, we've already turned the fuse on and off and checked all the wirings inside the range.

top part of oven working but the oven itself is not turning on would like to know what does the fuse breaker look like.

  • charlie machoy Jan 02, 2008

Same model. Same problem. Sad thing is that my warranty expired only 1 month prior to the problem. My wife was cooking a ham for Christmas dinner when she noticed that the oven performance was not as usual. A few days later we noticed that the display was blank and the oven not working. However, the stove top still works. I unplugged the stove and tripped the circuit breaker a couple of times without success.

Mine is like the other person with PF error. It beeps loudly and will not stop until I unplug it and let it sit a bit. No help when i called frigidare

My stovetop works fine, but oven will stop working after a while. I have to turn on a burner on the stovetop for gas to start coming out for the oven again. There are no error codes. What the heck?

  • Anonymous Mar 07, 2008

The oven will heat up initially, sometimes it stays on, sometimes when the oven "clicks" to cycle the burners to light, it just keeps clicking without lighting. Other times it cooks fine. It seems to happen more often when baking at longer lengths. Could it be the igniter or maybe the thermostat?

Oven takes over an hour to warm up to just 285 degrees. Finally gave up. Called Sear's repairman where unit was purchased from. He came out 3 days later, examined the oven, he then called Jenn-Air tech support. They determined that the sensor and board had gone...only after 3 years (no longer under Sears warranty). I paid the price, parts came in that week, after 3 weeks and cancellation after cancellation, I hired an electrician who put in the parts. It does the same exact thing it was doing before. I bought parts I did not need, paid a Sear's repairman who never did the installation, hired and electrician to put in the parts and the oven still cycles through and does not warm up. Any suggestions, besides never buying from Sears again?

Oven just shut off while cooking and left a residue inside the oven. I can wipe it clean but wondering why this happened. The display went blank. After, my husband reset the breaker it restarted again, but I am afraid to use it until I know what caused this.

  • kpel May 17, 2008

The bottom element is not working in my oven. I am not getting any error codes. I took it apart and didn't see anything unusual. It makes some clicking noises when it's on, it just doesn't heat up. My only guess is that it's the resistance temperature detector.

I have an Amana AGDS902SS and suddenly while cooking, the controls for the oven part simply went out and I cannot cook with the oven. The led lights for the clock also disappeared however the electronic ignition for the stove tops and oven fax controls are still powered. So it is not a total electrical issue.

Gas Burner valves use a flame proving circuit to verify that a flame exist before releasing gas to the burners in the oven as a safety precaution, this sensor being exposed to temperature extremes, fails over time.

We had the same problems. The oven would preheat to the temperature, then make a clicking noise and go off (either right away, or shortly into the baking time). It had been acting up for months bur finally go to where it would barely even work at all. The clock would blink and was not keeping time well at all either. My husband took out the control module/clock unit and examined it with a magnifying glass. He found over two dozen broken/cracked/faulty solder joints on the board. He was able to re-solder them and everything has been working perfectly. It's like having a new stove again!

I have a Whirlpool oven and have had a problem with the oven beeping nonstop for about 4 minutes when it would eventually allow me to turn it off. I've had the oven over a year and teh beeping thing was always an issue. Last week, all at once the oven quit working. This whole thing was solved by having someone come in and replace the ignitor. SO it isn't always the relay board like most think. I was getting error code F2 and it ended up being a faulty ignitor.

It might be you have some faulty components up in the controller. try dismantle the upper part and check for blown up components or loose connected componets and wires. Patrick

Samsung oven not properly heating and clicking when pressure applied to control panel

Sounds like a plug and socket bad connection or a spade connector with a bad crimping giving a poor connetion but just enough until it expands with the heat of the oven.
Take it apart and have a look if you are competant to do so.

It is probably as simple as changing the ignitor...
The ignitor is not working right and is going bad....
have the repair man replace the ignitor, or DIY....

My oven display is beeping and blinking 'PBR' on the display. What does that mean?

I had this same problem last night.. I have been having problems with the oven shutting off on preheat.. That sort of stopped. Last night lost power to the house. When it returned the oven was beeping and flashing PBR. I turned off the breaker for a few mins. last night and it returned. It was bugging me so much that turned it off the whole night. Woke up this morning turned the breaker back on and it stopped. I don't think this is the total solution. I am thinking that eventually I am going to have to replace power board in this oven. Hope it works!

Oven not heating KitchenAid KERC506HWH3

This is probably the thermal shuttoff fuse. Usualy mounted in the back of the oven. Aftermarket fuses are resetable but the OEM ones that come with the ovens usualy are not, so when they go out they stay out. This shuttoff only effects the power to the element so the rest of the oven appears to work.
The oven has to come out and remove the rear covers, behind the covers you will see 2 wires that go to a small 1/2 in dia "plug" that mounts directly to the surface with 2 screws.
Remove the connections and put a meter across the cuttout. it should read very close to zero ohms, if not its blown.

Oven not heating KitchenAid KERC506HWH3

Built-in ovens have a thermal fuse mounted in the back of the oven preventing the bake and broil from operating. In some cases this fuse will open after a self clean operation. In some models, the cooling fan turns off too soon, causing an overtemperature condition that may also cause the fuse to open. You will have to remove the oven and take off the back panel to gain access to this device.
