My printer has been acting up for some timee, getting very hot, and recalibrating after every few sheets. Now it has stopped altogether with the above error. Does anyone have a diagnosis?
I have put a plastic sheet on the printer and obvious the sheet burn around the fuser unit.
I could take out the sheet after unplugging many pieces.
But the Service Req Error E537
What can I do ;(((((((((((
E537 is listed as FUSER FAIL: ? Control Thermistor detected a temperature exceeding the specified temperature. Safety Thermistor detected a temperature exceeding the specified temperature. ? The Control Thermistor did not detect a Ready even though the specified time elapsed from Main Lamp ON at Warm Up. ? The Main Lamp continues to stay lit even after time specified for the Main Lamp elapsed after the Control Thermistor detected a Ready. ? The Control Thermistor detected a temperature below the specified temperature even after the specified time elapsed from Main Lamp ON at Warm Up. ? The latch lever of FUSER ASSY is set incorrectly. You should replace the fuser unit. If the error remain after changing the fuser you need to take the machine for service as the error may relate to the power supply units.
I too just disconnected power and reconnected. Surge protection should be okay, but not UPS you're not supposed to run printers, heaters or lamps from a UPS battery backup.
It's definately the fuser unit, it jammed right after a print. If turning off and on doesnt solve it, try opening up the printer remove the fuser find the cogs and turn them a bit by hand then re-insert, reboot the printer and try over. Failing that could bee more serious issue and probably worth looking at replacement printers!
Try it several times especially if the printer is old EoL on laser printers is probably a 4-6 year life span.
Just for info...
I often get this problem with a printer server. I think it may be a USB-data transfer problem.
I loften get it if I start a data transfer just after powering up the printer. Usually if I wait a minute or two before sending a print job it works ok
After getting same E537 error I unplugged it from Cyberpower UPS battery backup and plugged it into surge strip and now it works again
I just have turned it off, waited 10 sec, and than turned it back on.
It works now. Yepee!

I think it may be the fuser unit, but am seeking confirmation. Another suggestion was to "unplug it from the surge protector" i.e. plug direct to mains. I haven't been able to test that yet (the printer belongs to a less computer-literate friend).
The printer is now being scrapped - cost of repair likely to exceed cost of new printer.
I have decided to junk the printer - a new fuser unit is too expensive!
Our Epson Aculaser CX11NF printer has the same problem. No action has been taken. Need advice.
We have the same problem; Epson Aculaser C1100 E537
