Hi!! My husband just sat down and finally figured this out,
You have to use disc navigation, then wait for the thumbnails to show up and then push menu and scroll down three times to the disc, and then choose finallize and then tell it yes. You do have to have it plugged into the a/c adapter tho in order to do this for some reason.

Hmmm.nway..u try this>>>after u record your video & you want to finalize it to view on a dvd players...go to settings>you will see the finalized>click OK..>prompt FINALIZE DISK>>CHOOSE YES.. i used this on my MV730model...ok

I had the same problem. What I did on my Hitachi DVDCam was to click the "Stop" button to clear all keystrokes. Then, click "Menu". The camera might say "Creating Thumbnails" for a minute but then it will stop and display a mock menu for your mini dvd. Then click "Menu" and the toolbar should pop up. With the arrow keys, scroll down. You should see a menu that says "Finalize DVD" click this. For a small dvd, it will take around 13 min. to finalize.

I have recorded the stuff on the dvd but I can't get the dvd to play on a dvd player on the TV. Can you help me out please. I do not have an owners manual?

I would like instructions on finalizing the dvd. I cannot seem to find my manual.
I don't know where to find the settings on the camcorder. I looked around all the buttons and no where did I find settings. I did find protect disc? Is this what I needed to do to get the disc to play on a DVD player on the TV?
