Drain pump wont stop running

Even when the unit is not set to run, the drain pump runs constantly. The water does drain so it is not clogged. We have to leave the door open or the breaker off to stop it.

SOURCE: Water keeps running into dishwasher

It looks like your inlet water valve is stuck after it powers on which means you have to replace it. If you can provide me a model and serial number of the dishwasher, I can provide you with the correct part number and a breakdown diagram. You can find the model number on the door frame of the dishwasher.

SOURCE: Dishwasher will not drain water out after completing the rince or final cycle

Thanks for respsonding, but the problem was a collapsed y-connector at the drain. We think it was an original plumbing error. The clamp was so tight at the connection to the drain, the PVC pipe collapsed. Turns out the problem was six feet away from the dishwasher. Go figure......

Keeps running

Hello, The first thing that you would have to be able to tell is which cycle of the dishwasher is it that keeps running. Most of the time when this happens the unit keeps running on the drain cycle in which the unit either detects a leak in the system that the pump is trying to clear the water from the unit leaking water out of the machine. Another reason would be if you had a clogged drain line, In order to check for an issue with a clogged drain line you would first go under you sink. You would then disconnect the drain line to the exit water port either on your disposal,or sink piping. You would then visually inspect the inside of the exit port where the drain line connects to. Alot of times I find that this area does get gunked up with debris from the disposal. After assuring that this area was functioning properly you would then have to de-install the dishwasher from under your counter in order to check the rest of the drain line as well as the pump itself. You can check the rest of the drain line by disconnecting the line from the pump cleaning this connection end point and blowing air through the line which would tell you if there were any clogs in the line at all. If there were no clogs in the drain line you would next look at the pump itself and have to assure that the impellar inside the pump is spining. If it were not then you would replace the drain pump. I will await your reply as to which cycle you think that the unit is constantly running in before further diagnosing your issue at hand. I await your reply
Thank you

P1 constantly goes on throughout the day. I do not know if I have the setting right or if the drain hose is connected properly.

First, the drain hose should not be longer than 5 feet and should be draining downward, with no kings or bends in the hose, The dehumidifier does not have a pump. It relies on gravity to drain the water.

As far as it running all day is concerned, some dehumidifiers have a "Constant" or "Continual" setting. Which means it runs constantly. Either while dehumidifying or defrosting. In addition, most Danby dehumidifier models are designed to have the fan run even when the compressor is not running. This is in order to circulate the air in the room and make the unit work more efficiently. This is a standard feature and cannot be programmed to stop.

Hope this answered you questions.

Disherwasher wont drain out water.

Will the dish washer spray water during the wash cycle? If no it could be the pump motor. The motor will run in the opposite direction to drain the washer. If it spays water it could be a clog in the drain hose or the connection to the drain (on newer units) or garbage disposal (on older units). Remove the hose from the drain and place it into a large bucket to see if it drains during unit operation (stop the washer if the bucket fills). if it does clean the connection to the drain or the garbage disposal hole. If not make sure the hose is free from obstructions. If the above checks out then check for voltage on the pump connection with a volt meter. You may be able to visually inspect the pump or listen for the vibration of the pump during the draining operation. If you have voltage the pump is defective or the internal garbage disposal (found on newer units only) is clogged or damaged.

Dishwasher wont drain when finshed

Float valve is jammed.

Look inside the machine on the floor will be a small float valve. Looks like a small upside down cup. Lift it and clear anything from underneath.

The valve is a safety feature to stop the machine from over filling. If anything gets under the valve it will jam open and stop the machine.

Not working?

Check for a clog internal or external.

Scoop as much water our as you can. Open the cover on the floor of the machine. Usually just turns and lifts out or snaps out some are screwed in. Take your time and try not to force anything. Look for a clog there.

Check for clog in the drain. The dishwasher will connect to the drain under your sink and run either directly to the drain or into your disposal unit. Remove open the connections and look for a clog. Clear if necessary.

Not the clog?

Water is pumped out by the machine via an internal pump located under the base. If it fails the water will collect until it trips the float valve. First scoop out all the water from the machine and run it again. If water comes in and it runs to the point it fills again and trips the float then either the pump or timer is faulty.

Pump check.

Remove the machine. It will be held in place by screws directly into the counter top. You may have to lower it to get it out. The front feet turn with a wrench to lower.

Turn off the water supply. Run the unit again until you get to the drain cycle.

Connect a test light or voltage tester to the terminals at the pump. Check for voltage at the pump. If you have voltage replace the pump. If no voltage the timer is faulty.

Timer problem?
Some can be replaced as a unit others are integral to the control panel. Turn style can be replaced. Touch control can not.

My kenmore clothes washer won't empty water

some models reverse the moter to activate the pump .. some have a solonoid to engage the pump .. depends on what model you have ... if the motor runs but still it doesnt pump then look for a broken belt that drives the pump .. on some there is a little universal joint that sometimes breaks .. often the pump becomes clogged with coins and other debree .. you didnt say if the spin cycle started or not .. if it doesnt then you could have a bad door switch .. if that doesnt operate then the spin cycle wont start and it wont drain as well .. you can test for clogs by taking the drain hose out and placing it on the floor .. if a lot of water comes out then its not clogged .. if no water comes out then you have a clog .. (be prepaired for lots of water) .. even if water comes out there still could be a coin stoping rotation of the pump .. there is no reset on the pump, it is almost always run by the main motor ..
