Screen has developed several patches but only on blue images

My 50'' Plasma is a few years old now and has ran fine without any problems until yesterday!!! When watching a cartoon, we noticed that whenever the display was showing blue sky or something like that these patches about the size of your hand where showing a lack of colour, but as soon as the colour changes all is perfect again. The areas of the screen to touch are hotter than the rest. Any ideas?

Rainbow static on Plasma Tv

The color static, if we are talking about the same thing, is usually a digital signal interference. Check cables, and digital converter if used.

Blue blur on part of the screen...toshiba ultra vision

Do you normally leave this set on a specific channel...such as CNBC or BLOOMBERG tv...etc that maintains a regular scrolling image???

If so...on sets that are a few/several years old...the projection tv screens can develop what's called a "burn" or "burned image" on the screen...similar to wearing a path in your carpet from heavy traffic areas. Newer models do not have this issues...but many older ones do.

Did you get this problem resoslved? I had the same issue a few months ago. I tech came by and took my TV to the shop, a few days later he said it was fixed as they needed to make some adjustments.....The TV has been fine up until a week or so ago and now the red dots have appeared again. Was wondering what happened to yours.
