SOURCE: Message reads eject. won't eject

My camera did the exact same thing. I called Canon tech support and they advised to unplug power cord, remove large main battery, and remove smallbackup battery. The small back up battery is under a small door under the main backup battery. With everything disconnected, turn camera to "camera" and then to "vcr" and then to off. Wait a few seconds. Put everything back together and try to eject again. The tech said that resets all the mechanical parts. However, it did not work for me. They now want me to send it to them for a paid repair. I have done some research on the internet and this is a VERY commom problem and it usually costs about $150 to correct via Cannon. Many times the problem occurs again. I am very very frustrated. I pulled my camera out last night to get it ready as my wife is 9months into her pregnancy. Now, I have to send my camera away for 5-9 days. Really really upset.

SOURCE: Tape will not load

I have enabled the MV6i to load a tape by: replacing the 3V 'data' battery, re-entering the date and time, turning the camera off for about half an hour, after taking several photos using the photo function the tape would load properly. Hope this works for you too! [email protected]

THESE CAMERAS ARE PEICES OF ****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I suggest that no body buys from cannon again!!
I am suppose to record my sister-in laws wedding and BOTH of my ELURA 100's are displaying the EJACT TAPE message!

"TEMP. FIX"
This takes pateince however for me it works....When you get the EJECT TAPE mesage....eject the battery with the power on (thus the power will go off by means of the battery not being in camera) then slap the battery back in....and KEEP doing this untill eventually the camera will NOT DISPLAY the message and actual work.

It may take up to 20 trys ....slap it in..slap it out...slap it in slap it out...BUt for me it works.

If it appears to work but as you hit the RECORD button it beeps and displays the EJECT tape message again...Go back and eject the battery again and repeat the STEPS...but dont worry , that means your getting closer to it working.. LOL

SOURCE: Canon ZR 10 Digital Video

Usually the cassette mechanism just needs cleaning when this happens, and a camera repair or tv repair shop can clean it. You can try a dry or wet cleaner, and they're available on the net (just google it), or try
Best Buy or Radio Shack.
If a cleaning doesn't fix the problem, it will have to be serviced.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

Play back on jvc video movie GR-A1E distorted

It is possible that the heads in your JVC video camera need cleaning, especially if the playback picture looks distorted and similar to a VHS tape played on a player with dirty heads. Dirty or worn-out heads can cause playback issues, including poor picture quality, distorted images, and tracking problems.
To clean the heads in your JVC video camera, you can try the following steps:
  1. Purchase a head cleaning cassette: You can find head cleaning cassettes online or in electronics stores. Make sure to get one that is compatible with your JVC video camera.
  2. Insert the cleaning cassette: Open the tape compartment on your JVC video camera and insert the head cleaning cassette. Close the tape compartment.
  3. Run the cleaning tape: Press the play button on your JVC video camera to run the cleaning tape. The cleaning tape will clean the video heads as it plays.
  4. Eject the cleaning tape: Once the cleaning tape has finished playing, eject it from your JVC video camera.
  5. Test your tapes: Try playing your tapes again to see if the picture quality has improved.
If cleaning the heads does not solve the problem, it is possible that there is a more serious issue with your JVC video camera.

My DCR-TRV340 is having playback issues on the cassette. I had the same issue just a day earlier, ran the cleaning casette through, and it was fine. The same problem quickly came back but the cleaning...

This is usually caused by an oxidized, misaligned or defective Audio/Video drum. You can try running a cleaning tape through the camera. If this does not solve the problem the camera will need to be serviced by a qualified service technician.

My name is Rick and I'm a professional repair technician with over 20 years in the business and have repaired many of these. Will not rewind

Sony is pretty secretive about the :23 code. It can't be found anywhere. However, to service the C:31 code, Sony recommends you do the following:

  1. Turn off the camcorder.
  2. Remove the battery or disconnect the AC power adapter for 60 seconds.
  3. Insert the battery or reconnect the AC adapter.
  4. Turn on the camcorder.
  5. If the error message appears, service may be required.

If your camcorder still shows the same error code, then you'll have to send in your camcorder for service.

The tapes In my Panasonic PV-GS14 are stuck and won't run

you cannot move the spindles/cogs in a mini dv tape without pressing down a small lever on the rear of the cassette.
the lever is in the lower right, move the lever, then move the ribbon protector to the open position, then spin the cogs, the tape should be free.
if not, then you have a jamm inside the cassette, you can open these casettes by removing 4 small screws. ( this is a very fiddly job & you may ruin the casette, if you dont know how )

Casette

You could have one of several problems. The cleaning message comes up when the camcorder cannot read the signal from the tape properly. This can be caused by:
1) A dirty video head
2) the tape guides being out of alignment
3) A worn or broken video head
If a cleaning cassette head does not help, you will need a tech to look at it.

Recording stopped working

Beleive the CCD has stopped responding. A cheap way to verify this is to point an infrared remote towards the lens and press a key. This will usually provoke a response from the camera even if all else fails, barring a bad pickup device...accordianman
