We have a frigidaire microwave and in the middle of cooking, the motor stopped. The clock and cook time continued to work, but no heat. We've tried using at half power, on defrost, etc. but nothing seems to work

I tried the suggested fixes and they did not work.  I pushed the red button, I opened and shut the door, I unplugged and plugged back in and the same thing - it says "cook" on it and the timer counts down the light is on, but nothing happens - no heat.

What you are saying the microwave stop work like heating, but but the clock counts down.If it is stop heating then there is a rest on or near the magtrogron.Once it cools down it start back heating.Open and close the door will reset power to the magtrogen{sorry about the spelling].Look for loose connector,or replace the click zon it should have a small red buttom on it.

Microwave plate turner keeps spinning even with door closed and microwave turned off

My microwave is doing this as well; It's a frigidaire model #FGMV154CLFA.

After using the microwave part (it is also convection), the light stays on in the microwave and the turner keeps turning.

And I've only used the convection part of my microwave a couple times and I'm not sure if I was successful. While trying to cook something in convection mode, I pressed convection, then pressed the temp i wanted, then convection, then keyed in the time I wanted the item to cook. The microwave started and the timer started counting down but the countdown stopped with 8 minutes left? I left it alone to see what would happen and it never finished so I restarted the process again.

PS..I've never gotten an error code

Whirlpool(GH7145XF2-0) does not work occasionally

That's how it would sound if you were cooking on a power level less than full power.

If you enter the cooking time and hit Start, it should cook at full power by default and not cycle like you describe.

If you are using some sensor cook setting or automatic type cooking setting, it may cycle like that normally.

The first thing to try is a "hard reset". Unplug it from the power line for a minute, plug it back in, set the clock, then try again.

Let us know if the hard reset doesn't fix it.

If you don't have your manual, you can download it free here. Check the lower right area to enter your model. number.

Lights up BUT does not cook

was there any motor that should run as you turn it on, the fan inside and the rotating table motor. try to replace that micro switch at the door that bubbled out and burnt. try to test or replaced right away the industrial diode that is connected from the capacitor to the ground of the microwave.
