We've been cooking a lot with the oven and stove top and turned on the microwave fan. Now, I can't get it shut off. Hi/low works, but it won't turn off. The only way I got it to turn off was to unplug it. When I plug it back in, the fan stays on. The microwave seems to still work, just the fan is the problem. Any help appreciated!
Had the same issue, leave Microwave unplugged for 30 minutes and then plug back in. My fax stopped blowing and now fucntions 100% normal again HI/LO / OFF
Best of Luck!!! :)

Hi,

SOURCE: Does stove-top need downdraft if microwave has oven-hood combo?
We have a stove with no downdraft, and a microwave with a hood above it. It works just fine. I expect you could keep your downdraft and put a microwave without a hood above it, and that would also work. I don't think, however, you can buy an above the range mocrowave oven, that slides in on brackets, which will not have a hood.
SOURCE: Where is the fuse on my microwave Electrolux PLMV169DCD located?
We have three service manuals covering the PLMV169 series, which you can download free:
http://www.microwavedisplay.com/plmv169dcc_sm.pdf
http://www.microwavedisplay.com/glmv169_plmv169_sm.pdf
http://www.microwavedisplay.com/glmv169_plmv169_late_prod_sm.pdf
They're all pretty similar.
You can usually find parts from the Pros here.
If not, contact Electrolux at the phone number on the front of the service manual.
It may be the C/T fuse (thermal fuse located above the magnetron) or the oven cavity thermal cutout, located on the top of the cavity.
Accessing these two parts for testing and possible replacement will require you to remove the oven from the wall.
If
so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have
two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.
You can
download Electrolux / Frigidaire owner's manuals and installation
instructions here.
It may also be that there was a power surge which damaged the control circuit board, activating the built-in surge protection.
This is not resettable. The circuit board has to be repaired. We do that for $39.95, details here.

Hello Derrick Baker - Typically no fan should come on without starting the microwave. There is one exception! For an example, if the microwave becomes too hot from something that is cooking on the stove below the microwave, the fan will come on and will cycle off once the bottom of the microwaves cools back down. If the fan is turning on when the door is closed, more than likely, a door switch as failed. At this point, I recommend connecting with a certified technician to move forward accurately to assist with the repairs.
