SOURCE: My laptop is BenQ Joybook A53. After installing

Hi Tazul

BENQ A53 AUDIO DEVICE/DRIVER INCOMPATIBILTY WITH WINDOWS 7

Please look at the following official BenQ Support and Driver Downloads website:

http://www.benq.com.au/page/?pageid=4&plid=18&pid=1359&s=1

As you can see clearly, the manufacturer of your laptop intended and designed it for use with only Windows XP and Windows Vista, not Windows 7.

Windows 7 can be misleading because it contains a huge built-in database of various device drivers, which can easily make it seem as if it is compatible with computers that it is not actually designed for. If all the other devices on your notebook seem fine apart from the Sound Device, it would appear as if this is what has happened to you. The Driver CD you tried is unlikely to be compatible with Windows 7.

Any website claiming to have downloads available of Windows 7 Audio Drivers for your notebook, are almost certainly of the type (Bait and Switch) that attract you only for you to discover that no such driver exists on their download database. They do this to win business from their competitors. Their aim is that you will buy something else from them instead.

I seriously doubt that any Windows 7 driver exists for the Audio Chip in your notebook.

You are really faced with two choices.

If you want to use the notebook's own Audio Chip, then you will almost certainly have to install Windows Vista or Windows XP and forget about Windows 7.

If you are determined to continue using Windows 7 and you are certain that all other devices and their respective drivers are installed and functioning correctly except the Audio Device, then you can buy a small, very expensive External Sound Device for Notebooks, Laptops and Netbooks that you must pre-confirm with the supplier, befor purchase, to be guaranteed to be Windows 7 compatible. See here for some examples:

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=external+usb+laptop+soundcard&x=9&y=20

I hope this helps.

What could be the problem of my laptop, after start up a few minute the screen will become full white, the antivirus already expired

Nothing to do with a virus........

Not software related.
It is hardware related.

Problem can be;
A) Graphics chipset on the motherboard
B) Video Cable. (Also known as LCD Cable, and a few other monikers)
C) screen Inverter
D) LCD screen

The method to find what the problem is, is to Diagnose.......

1) Graphics chipset:

Laptop OFF, monitor OFF, connect a VGA monitor to the VGA port, on BACK of the laptop.

http://www.finalsense.com/news/it/notebook_pocketpc/benq_joybook_a53.htm

(Pretty sad when you go to BenQ's 'support website'.
Couldn't pull a frigging photo up of the Joybook A53, and no User Manual download.
Sure isn't a laptop manufacturer that I would recommend!)

You can use a CRT type of monitor, (Looks like a small TV), or a flat LCD screen monitor if it has a VGA Cable.

VGA connector (Port), and VGA Cable example,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VGA_Connector

Scroll down a little for VGA Cable example.

Turn the monitor on. If a CRT type allow it to warm up a little.
Turn the laptop on.
By factory default settings, the display should show on the external VGA monitor.
IF not;

There are at least 3 display options available;
A) Internal monitor of laptop ONLY
B) Internal monitor of laptop AND external VGA monitor
C) External VGA monitor ONLY

Hold the Fn key down, and at the SAME time tap once on the Display Toggle-Over key.

Which key is that? Dunno. Thank BenQ for all of the detailed, wonderful information.........NOT.
It will be one of the F keys at the top of the Keyboard.
F1 through F12.
Usually has a monitor icon on it, and perhaps an arrow on one side.
HP is F4.
Acer usually F5
Toshiba - F8
IBM/Lenovo - F7

Just some examples.

No display showing?
Hold the Fn key down again, and tap once more on the Display Toggle-Over key.

No display on external VGA monitor suggests problem with graphics chipset.

(Most of the time it isn't the chipset itself, but rather it is the MOUNTING of the graphics chipset TO the motherboard.
The graphics chipset is soldered to the motherboard, with a BGA surface mount. Ball Grid Array.
Someone states it has a graphics card? Just laugh, and walk away. No reason to subject yourself to ignorance ]

Display shows on external VGA monitor?
The problem is the Video Cable, or screen Inverter, or LCD screen.

2) Video Cable:

The Video Cable connects to the motherboard, in an area under the Keyboard, or Switch Cover.
[Switch Cover;
The strip of plastic above the Keyboard, and below the Display Assembly.
Has the Power On button in it, for one]

From there the Video Cable goes by the left Hinge, and up into the Display Assembly.
One single cable comes off of the main body, of the Video Cable; and connects to one side of the screen Inverter.
The rest of the Video Cable, or Main body, goes on to connect to the back of the LCD screen.

Just from normal repeated opening, and closing of the laptop; the Video Cable may be pulled on. This chance also increases as the laptop ages. The sheath of the Video Cable, and the insulation on the wires inside the Video Cable; get stiff from age.

(Laptop is 5 years old, right?)

The pulling can cause loose connections of the Video Cable.
Loose on the motherboard side, or single cable connection to screen Inverter loose; or Video Cable connection to back of LCD screen, loose.

ALL power removed, AC adapter (Charger), and Battery; the connections are checked for tightness.
A visual inspection alone will NOT do.
The Video Cable connection MUST be physically checked.
Physically try to plug in tighter.
The loose connection could be so small, that you will not detect it with the human eye.

Pulling on the Video Cable can also damage it.
Stretched/Broken wires inside the Video Cable.
If, after the connections are proved to be tight, and this does not repair the problem; the Video Cable is removed, and every wire inside the Video Cable checked for Continuity.

A multimeter is used, and set to OHM's. (1K)
If this is not feasible for you, suggest take Video Cable down to nearest small computer repair shop, and have the resident tech check it out. Should only be a few bucks.

Video Cable continuity test proves Video Cable to be good, the screen Inverter is next in the diagnosis.

3) screen Inverter:
The screen Inverter converts the power (Electricity), from the laptop; for the Backlight, and LCD screen.
I know your laptop uses a screen Inverter, because it uses a CCFL for a Backlight,

https://www.laptopscreen.com/English/model/BenQ/JOYBOOK~A53/

90 PERCENT of the time, the fault can be attributed to a bad screen Inverter.
It is just a small circuit board, and only lasts so long.
HOWEVER, this is a diagnosis, and NOT a guessing game.

To test a screen Inverter requires a sensitive multimeter. Read fairly expensive,

http://www.fonerbooks.com/test.htm

The screen Inverter is located behind the Display Bezel, and mounted towards the bottom of the LCD Screen Frame.

[The plastic thin frame in front of the LCD screen, is the Display Bezel.
The LCD screen is composed of layers. These layers are kept in the factory set alignment, by a metal Screen Frame.
It resembles a picture frame ]

Because of the ease of access to replace, not having access to a sensitive multimeter, and the usually low cost; the screen Inverter is just replaced.

4) LCD screen:

If the Video Cable connections were tight, and Video Cable is good, plus the screen Inverter is replaced, and this does no good; then replace the LCD screen.

Video Cable cost?
Guessing around $9 to $12.
Screen Inverter?
Usually $9 to $20.
LCD screen?
$60 to $225 depending on laptop.

This is why the laptop is diagnosed.
Don't want to spend $225, when a $9 Video Cable, or $9 screen Inverter was the problem.

There is one tool you will DEFINITELY need, for checking the motherboard connection of the Video Cable, along with the basic tools.......

An ESD wrist strap......

Electro Static Discharge
Average cost is $3 to $6.
Connect it's alligator clip to a good ground source.

Need help in disassembling laptop to check motherboard connection, and LCD screen/screen Inverter connection of Video Cable?

My Wifi is not working. My laptop sound is scratchy. I want to upgrade my processor from celeron to core 2 duo which one i should select for cpu upgrade?

Two main things to know before you can attempt a Processor upgrade.

1) What Processor socket is on the motherboard?

2) What motherboard chipset is on the motherboard?
(Northbridge and Southbridge chip. Unless it's a motherboard that supports Intel Core 13, Core i5, Core i7, and Core i9 processors)

According to specifications I found online just now, the BenQ Joybook A53 comes with an,
Intel Core2 Duo T7250 processor,

http://laptops.techfresh.net/benq-joybook-a53/

Scroll down.

(Only 512MB's of DDR2 Sdram (SO-DIMM) ram memory that operates at 667Megahertz?
{ PC2-5300} Yecch! You need at LEAST 1GB of ram memory. (512MB + 512MB = 1GB.
2GB would be best)

http://www.laptop-software.com/benq/benq-joybook-a53-features-and-specifications/

Information on the Intel mobile Core2 Duo T7250 processor,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_Core_2_microprocessors#Core_2_Duo_2

Scroll the page down until in the left column you see T7250. Then read across, and match the headings above.

Uses a Socket M processor socket,
