Just recent, my ice maker wouldn't make ice, so I took it off and cleaned it, at which time I had ice on the back panel by the ice maker and some ice just to the right of the fan. I took some hot water and got the ice off, in which to take ice off I just rupped the hot hand towel on it till it was all off, then I took the bottom tray and took some ice that was at the bottom part by the fan on both sides. I then put everything back, I didn't hook up the water line to it til the next day, but after doing it their was no water running to fill the tray, so this tells me that the line is frozen up, but if the ice maker has no water running to it, why won't my freezer keep things frozen. I did notice some snow like ice to the back panel when checking it. Can some one assist me and briefly tell me what is the problem, maybe I can fix it with having to call a service man.
My ice maker seems to be leaking water right behind from cover plate.this is making rest of ice in front stick together, other then that it works great. Is there something I can tighten.
Jacqueline.
Your automatic defrost system is not working which is the indication of the frost on the back wall. When the freezer does not come down to temperature it also affects the ice maker. This kind of problem is from a bad timer, defrost heaters or defrost thermostat. I do not think you want to tackle this problem yourself. Call a service man from an appliance store that handles your product and give him the same information you gave here with the exception of the removal of the frost on the back wall.
