hi ,there are two parts to batteries holding power and preforming well, firstly how good are the batteries, secondly how good is the charger ?, good batteries and a bad charger will make the batteries appear bad...
If by "a few minutes" you mean 180 seconds, I really don't know what to say. But if you mean 5-10 seconds, you probably are experiencing air in the water line or normal engine warm-up behavior when the choke has been set to full lean too soon.
How did you check the battery? This needs to be done with a load test to be sure. Most car parts places will do this free. Battery leads OK? Not corroded? Also have the altenator checked for proper voltage out.
You may have clogged converters, a bad EGR valve or a bad TPS (throttle position sensor). Do you have a "check engine" light on? What engine do u have? Year of car? Mileage?
The device doesn't exactly work like a computer...
It needs battery power to "remember" what the user does. When you remove the battery, you let it forget everything.
It's like how your car stereo loses it's memory channels whenever they do battery related work.
What I would HIGHLY suggest, is set Activesync to do a full backup EACH TIME the device connects (it's in Tools, Backup).
THEN, when he loses the information, you do a full restore.
That being said -- to do a "reboot" just push the reset button (small hole on bottom left side grip) with the stylus.
If you want a more thorough reboot, it's safe to just take the battery out for a few seconds. I do this about once a day.
