The error you are receiving may be from the twain driver but also the
Scanner itself. Please have your scanner checked with a technician. You

Dear sir,I am sory for your problem.Please format your oparating system i mean you install new windows.some times optical driver did not read properly data cab file,So hardware driver is not support properly.Windows xp SP3 is not complite version some messing.

hi there. you actually downloaded the right driver :

try this Run Photoshop in Rosetta mode; Epson Scan 2.77A only runs in Rosetta mode.

Follow the steps below to run Photoshop in Rosetta mode:

  1. Open the Hard Drive, select Applications > Adobe Photoshop, then select the Adobe Photoshop icon.

  2. Hold down the drv_mac_407_er.gif-I keys to open the Get Info window.

  3. Check the Open Using Rosetta option, then close the window.

  4. Start Photoshop.

Can I get a driver for the epson perfection 1200 scanner that is compatible with windows vista. at present it will not work with vista and I am told no driver is available, otherwise I have to buy new...

this is pretty ancient model, but... you can try to use winxp twain driver and it should work, your registry most probably will need bit of tweaking... version which will most probably work is TWAIN Driver v5.53A,

follow this procedure, disconnect your scanner from computer, run ccleaner to clean all rubbish, including registry clean.

download twain driver and then run it, force vista to accept it, reboot your computer. connect scanner and you will have then warning from vista about digital signature, disregard it and force install software. scanner should work.

i still would suggest newer version...

We have plastic form to scan slides, no matter where we put it the preview on epson 1670. help

you will need to clarify your problem, that does not make sense.

make sure you have the proper slide adapter and check your twain settings for the right settings.

Scanner is not recognizing the TWAIN driver I downloaded

Can you run a test through the scanner and camera wizard?
If so you are using a WIA driver and a registry entry is being blocked.
Look for an error log file in the Epson driver folder.
It may show the entry that has been marked read only.
If so just uncheck the read only mode and re-install software.

Epson GT5500 Flatbed scanner

unfortunately Epson has not made a driver for this scanner that is compatible with Vista and from the looks of it, they don't seem to have any plans on making one!
