Two years ago I had the problem of the picture going away and coming back. With no repair that seemed to fix itself. Today after turning the tv on the picture and sound came on within 30 seconds the...

The problem has been there all the time, probably a dry solder joint or a bad chip, thats got worse over time & has now completly failed, its time for either a trip to the tv repair man, or the best option a nice new smart tv, i just bought a 42" for £199 why mess about.

I turn the tv on and red light comes on solid for a sec then starts to flash with no picture or volume what is wrong any clue

That would be a burnt out lamp, or better yet the lamp blew up as in broken, when that happens you will not get sound. If it just gave up as in burnt out you will get sound but no picture. Both are the same the lamp needs to be replaced.

the lamp has a life cicle. if yours is been used a lot. then the lamp has to be changed. when the tv cannot turn on steady and gets off imm. the computer inside the tv tries to turn off the set but the lamp charges again and the micro tends to keep working. the first step to take in this tv is to change the lamp to eliminate this common source of problems

Tv turns off and on

The first time my lamp needed replaced, the red light came on as well. This time my tv did the same thing, but after talking to my tv repair man he thought it was the lamp. He said that if you use your tv often then the lamp probaly needs to be changed after two or three years. I replacedmy bulb and it corrected the problem and I MUCH BETTER PICTURE.

Turns on, sound comes out, turns off, no picture

You have a short in the tv.
I would recommend calling a repair man.
You may be able to find someone at this website.

Tv does not come on instantly when powered up

on these models either lamp or lamp driver(ballast)is defective or both, would suggest to change both at same time..however cost may be prohibitive.
