Pc transfer pics

The best way to transfer pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa.

My cam can not be recognized by my laptop... its the first time this happens... i can not transfer my pics to my laptop

Hi,
Try camera in another USB port of laptop and also check it with another USB cable, if still problem not solved then plug camera in any other computer to make sure that it is problem of camera.
If camera still wont work in other computer then its USB port got defective, please use memory card reader to transfer pictures in computer, take out memory card from camera, put it in memory card reader and plug it in USB port of computer.
Thanks.

How do i transfer the pics on the cam to the storage card? Sony Cybershot DSC-S780 I do not have the manual for instructions

One way is to plug it in to a pc or laptop without the memory card the save the pictures on the pc. After put the memory card in the camera and move the pictures in the camera again so it goes in the memory card. All pictures you take with the memory card automatically go in the memory card.

Twain error message w/ cybershot dsc-f505

do you use a card reader? or do you connect the cam to your pc to download the pics? best way to transfer the images to the pc is a card reader, but some readers wont accept a memorystick with "lock" turned off, so for example if you have a 128MB memorystick, turn write protect on. switch to "off" position (it is a small switch on the stick) then the card reader will "see" the stick, but erasing and writing is not possible with the pc...

OK...step 1...check all cables. Hooking the cable up and turning the camera on should put it in transfer mode...does camera do this?

If yes, step 2...go to system information and uninstall drivers.

step 3....use uninstall programs to remove sony software (BACK UP PICS FIRST)

step 4....reboot

step 5...reinstall software

sounds like your drivers are toast or your usb port is shot...try moving the cable to another usb port
