Burn discs unable to burn discs but can read cd dvd ok slimtype dvdrw ssm 8515s

Not all DVD Players are compatible with DVD-RWs. Most that I've seen aren't.

All except the bluray ones.

My DVDRW works again, I think the latest update of windows 7 has taken care of the problem, but I'm not sure.

check ur dvd, it might have some scraches or clean the lense of your dvd rom with wet tissue.

it's look like windows registry problem.

Allora, ho il tuo stesso pc e mi è già capitato il prob. Mi sè risolto formatando il pc ma non è minca finita qui..
dopo un mesetto mi si ripresentato. La coluzione defintiva è stato quella di sfruttare la mia garanzia per farmene spedire uno nouve di zecca. Ovviamente solo il pezzo guasto.

Se no puoi provare a smontarlo e pulire il lettore dvd con l'alcol (xkè evapora).
Tienimi al corrente per eventuali sviluppi.

It shouldn't need a specific driver, the driver should be loaded as part of the standard IDE/ATAPI support for Windows (what version of Windows are you running?)

In Device Manager, try Uninstalling the device (right-click it, choose Uninstall), then restart the system. It should be auto-detected again and Windows will try to reinstall the appropriate drivers.

If that doesn't work, we will need more information about your computer.
