My grinder completely stopped. Remove the chamber that holds the grinds and clean out the opening where the grinds enter the chamber.

Perhaps remove the hopper (top) and inspect to see if a buildup of very fine compacted grounds as accumulated. knock the stuff loose.

We have one that is about 3 years old. First he timer part stopped working so you'd have to hold the button down to grind, and then the whole thing just quit. I opened it up (screws under the rubber feet) and found two problems on the circuit board: first, there was a capacitor which had
broken a leg, which I re-soldered back on. Second, I resoldered the timer chip as it looked like it had some bad joints.
I am guessing a lot of these units seffer from simmilar problems due to the intense vibrations the thing has to withstand.

Our Cuisinart DBM-8C would barely operate with the Start button held down and not at all with the timer function. Cleaning it thoroughly made no difference. I suspected the 100uF 16V electrolytic capacitor on the circuit board had gone bad as they are a common electronic component to fail in any electronic circuit. I changed the capacitor for a new one (available at an electronic parts store or online) and the burr mill now works like new.

Glad I found your post. Opened mine up and looked at 16v 100uF capacitor on circuit board but appeared OK. Will order one and hopefully have mine up and operational once again.

How do i clean dbm-8 grinder

Do yourself a favor and got the right kind of grinder for the coffee you drink. If you have a dry coffee use a grinder. High oils in some coffee need the blade type of grinder. Usually you can tell by looking inside the bad. See oily coating get a blade type.

Cuisinart DBM-8 coffee grinder started by itself.

Mine did it as well. I had an electrician out to check out the outlet. He replaced the outlet, but it still has done it. It freaks me out, so I unplug it after use.

Grinder will not start

Make sure that the coffee ground container is fully inserted. You may need to make sure there are no grounds are keeping it from seating properly. Use something soft such as a toothpick to clean it thoroughly...Good Luck.

When grinding coffee beans the grinder is not dropping the beans into the grinder part. I have to stay and shake or bang the grinder on counter to get the beans to fall through.

you must screw off the burr holder plate screw (in center) you will order one special screw, drill shaped, when the burrs roll it will mix and take down the coffee beans. That is solution i applied to many grinders. PS: beware the direction of burrs must be coordinated with new screw.

Grinder fell. Black "button" inside broke off.

Use just about any 2-part epoxy, clean parts with rubbing alcohol first to remove coffee oil and get a good bond.

Cuisinart DBM-8 Supreme Grind Automatic Burr Mill stopped grindin

We are on our second and last machine; after this DBM 8 goes out, I am going to find the most basic grinder I can and stick with it. That said, I fixed ours by removing the clear plastic reservoir where the ground coffee ends up, and then removing the build-up of coffee grounds around the exit chute where the ground beans enter the reservoir.
So, slide the reservoir out, just as you would when emptying it in to your coffee maker and set it aside. Have a flashlight ready when you tilt the grinder forward. On the back side you will see the hole where the ground beans empty into the reservoir. Take a toothpick and get rid of all the clay-like coffee reside that has built-up around that hole. Use a can of dusting air, if possible, (the aerosol "can" type used to blow dust particles from your computer) and blow away all possible ground coffee residue in the hole and around it. This will allow the reservoir to seat snug and flush again. This process fixed ours and I don't know why for sure, other than I suspect, the clay like build-up of coffee grounds, over time prevents the reservoir from seating properly and it has to seat perfectly to work. Good luck.
