SOURCE: diesel mixed with oil in the sump

You run again the generator but before running, check & mark the oil level. Then stop the generator & wait until the oil settle to the bottom of oil pan. Check the oil level again & if the oil level is higher than the marking before that's means you have an engine gasket leak. You need to replace that gasket.

How do I install an oil pump for Toyota avanza because it is got a mark on it . how do I align the mark that is on the oil pump for I to pump?

Not familiar with the model but normally a marked oil pump drive indicates the drive aligns with another cog ie the distributor drive cog. Oil pumps aren't timing specific, check the crankshaft for a corresponding mark.

How do I set the timing of the oil pump for avanza 1.6 because the is a mark how do I set the oil pump according to that mark

I am assuming yours is the engine fitted with a timing chain. An oil pump does not need setting up with a timing mark.
You are probably looking at the crankshaft cog which has the oil pump fitted behind it and this DOES need timing up.
On the timing chain there should be certain chain links that are a different colour. There will be one for each mark on each camshaft cog, and one for the mark on the crankshaft cog.
ALL marks AND links MUST match up exactly.

Timing belt

first ever post, with displacement . 93 Rodeo,
so can be looked up .

the belt (gates) comes with instructions, did you buy a cheap
china belt off fleabay? with none?

alldata.com shows
its a DOHC engine.
28 steps

first the warning. at step 13
Set the timing sprockets so that the crankshaft and camshaft sprocket timing marks align with the timing marks on the oil pump and front plate. When the timing marks are align, no pistons are at TDC for the compression stroke. Valve damage may result if the sprockets and belt are out of alignment.

there is a tensioner that as a locking pin,.do you know how to do that?

ill not answer how do it all, only the timing question.
here is the answer.
Ill answer not for removal but install.

install : step 1 and 2
  1. Align the groove on the crankshaft timing pulley with mark on the oil pump.
  2. Align the marks on the camshaft timing pulleys with the dots on the front plate.

photo 2 shows.

I need cam timing settings for a volvo s40 2006

The timing marks on the cam gears align with the timing marks in the rear timing cover. The timing mark on the crank gear aligns with the timing mark on the oil pump assembly.
The tensioner is set by rotating the tensioner clockwise until the holes in the tabs on the left side of the tensioner are aligned, then tighten the center bolt.

How do u set the timing on a oil pump for a 76 harley sportster xlh 1000 lay down pump

On the oil pump shaft housing, just below the gear, there's a small square slot cut out of the housing. If you rotate the oil pump shaft, you'll see a dot on the shaft. You want this dot on the shaft in the slot in the housing when the Top Dead Center mark is in the timing hole on the other side of the engine. You have to install the oil pump like you would a distributor. You turn the dot away from the hole and when you put the pump into position, the oil pump drive gear turns the shaft while the pump goes up on the studs. When you get seated, the marks should be aligned.

    Good Luck

I have a 2000 dodge caravan trying to time it dont know how has a 3.0 motor

set the timing mark on the crankshaft to the mark on the oil pump, then set the timing mark on the camshaft to the mark on the alternator bracket/set second camshaft mark to mark on the inner timing belt cover. line up all mark as decribed. be sure before u set anything to bring #1 piston all the way up to top. with belt on turn crankshaft 2 full turns to bring #1 piston back to top if the cams are not lined up correctly loosen belt and start over again until everything lines up correctly. you may have to do this a few times but it will work.
