SOURCE: xbox live

you can set a static ip address to your xbox if it's not detecting it automatically.
in order for you to know what ip address to set, go to the command prompt (for windows xp: click on start, then run, type cmd). when you're on the command prompt, type ipconfig/all and hit enter. tahe note of the default gateway, subnet mask and dns 1 and 2. for example, the default gateway is 192.168.1.1, you can set your xbox using the ip address 192.168.1.2 and up (note: you just need to make sure that you are going to use an ip address that is not being used by any other devices that are also connected to the router).

hope this'll help you

ciao!

SOURCE: hi i am trying to

Hi,

Welcome to FixYa! I believe that when you're trying to connect wirelessly it's not asking for the network key or other users are able to connect to your network. Please follow the steps below for you to be able to make your connection secure.

1 Open your web browser, type " http://192.168.1.1/ " into the address bar and hit "Enter."

2 Use "admin" as the username in the pop-up box and leave the password blank or try to use " admin" as the password as well.

3 Connect to the Internet and click on "Internet Setup."

4 Select your connection type from the drop-down menu. Choose "DHCP" for cable modems or "PPPoE" for most DSL modems. If you are unsure of these options, check with your ISP.

5 Set a service set identifier (SSID) to identify the router and change the password.

6 Encrypt your wireless connection using a Wireless Encryption Protocol (WEP) key. Under the "Wireless Security" option, enter a passphrase and click "Generate." This will generate a password which will need to be used by any client connecting to your router

Hope this will help...Thank you for using Fixya...

HPlaserjet 2600n without IP

INSTALLING A NETWORK PRINTER These instructions generally apply to all network printers with built-in network cards (print servers) such as HP LaserJet printers, IBM Infoprint laser printers etc. This example is for a network HP LaserJet printer. To install a HP printer (with built-in Jetdirect print server) as a network printer on a wireless network . You need to do the following -
1. Open the printer\'s menu and enable the Network Card - these print servers use a static IP address therefore, configure the IP address of the network card so it matches the IP range of your network. Eg. If your IP\'s are 192.168.0.xxx then set the network card to a high number say 100. (This is to prevent a conflict with the router issuing the same IP address to a computer on your network). Then set the Subnet Mask IP address to 255.255.255.0 If you have a wireless router then check the IP address range that the router issues to the computers on your network and configure the static IP address in the printer\'s network configuration accordingly.
2. Install the HP printer driver on your computer/s using the LPT printer port.
3. Connect the printer with a LAN cable to the network hub/router.
4. Click on Printers and Faxes - right click on the HP printer and click on Properties.
5. Click on Ports and click on Add Port.
6. In available ports - click on Standard TCP/IP Port and then Configure port.
7. Tick the IP box and type in the IP address of the HP\'s printer IP address.
8. Click OK and tick Enable bi-directional support and then OK
9. Remove the printer cable, then do a test print to see if the printer prints correctly.
Install the HP printer driver on every computer on your network and configure the printer\'s TCP/IP port as previously detailed. Do a test print page to check the printer.
You can now print from any computer on your network.

Wirelessly connect to hp deskjet f380 printer

This model printer only has USB printer connection and it cannot be connected to a wireless network directly.
If you have a wireless router then you can connect a print server to this HP printer and then connect the print server to the wireless router. This will allow you to print wirelessly yo the HP printer when you configure the printer server and configure the printer driver in the computers to connect to the printer port IP address of the print server.
