Power on does not heat up water. Coffee switch on does not heat up water. Steam switch on does heat up water.

We turn the power on and the heat-up light does not come on, nor does it heat water. Same when we turn on the Coffee switch. If we turn on the Steam switch, the water heats up (the heat-up light comes on, too). Any ideas what has happened?

Remove the top panel and check the 3 thermostat on the machine one of them is not functioning properly, find the wire to the steam switch and trace it to the thermostat.

SOURCE: No hot water

Yes there is a small red breaker switch on the left side of the boiler tank. Unplug the unit first then remove the left side cover and just push down on the red breaker switch to reset it.

Sounds like the heating element is fried, you will need to find a local person who understands basic electrical troubleshooting with a meter. Take the top off and have somebody meter voltage across the heating element electrodes if there is voltage ther,e but the machine is cold, your heating element positively absolutely has gone bye bye. My Krups xp4050 no longer makes steam or hot coffee

I assume there is a power 'On' light. If it is lit and no hot water is produced... the odds are the heating element is blown. If No 'Power On light' then change the fuse in the mains plug.... simples

Kitchenaid espresso machine tripping switches

Relay will be fine if you fix the real problem. Get some new seals (5 of them) into the steam boiler and check for leaks from the teflon tube at the top of the steam boiler. When you have it apart tip it upside down, you will be surprised how much hidden water there is.

Just bought the machine. Basically, the problem is that the steam wand goes of on its own (or as soon as I push the coffee button) and that I cannot turn the steam handle at all or do anything to stop...

Hi. Make sure all your buttons are off. (switches all facing the same direction). Then make sure the tap is turned off. Switch main power on. Then switch the coffee on. you should hear the pump start. usually loud at 1st, then it will get quiter as the water is pumped up through the group head. When water is pouring through the group head, switch off the coffee button. Now let it finish heating. If you can get to this stage, then everything is ok. If you cant get it to this stage then you have a problem with the machine. Most likely a themostat on the boiler. Darryn REPAIRER

When I turn the knob for steam, I just get water.

Possible that the heater coil has opened , the power line is cut due to failure in the circuit, the power switch or control.
So you will need a trace within to confirm on this as the possiblity of each of the indicated reasons can result with no heating.

My francis francis x3 does not heat the water, I have a power light on, but no heat?

Does the bottom light come on? The light is connected across the heating element and so if it is on the heating element is getting power. From looking at mine it looks like the bottom button for steam power bypasses the thermostat and uses the pressure switch to shut off the heating element. So if the light comes on when you press the steam switch but off when it isn't it is most likely your thermostat causing problems, if it never lights it is most likely the pressure switch. I do not claim to be an expert on the machine but from looking at mine that is what i would expect.

Left power and steamer on overnight and now machine doesn't work

they have a heat fuse attached to the side of the pump so when you do what you did that melts and does not damage the coffee maker
They charge $100 to replace which is a bit tough, you could bypass easily but could damage to machine it not careful
as we have two and one has just stopped pumping, not picking up water so maybe worn valves and I just have it all to bits and saw the heat fuse on the side of the pump,

Coffee won't brew

It is probily the thermal switch between hot wire and element. Check to see if you are getting power through this switch.
