SOURCE: Web cam wont turn on for video chat on AOL IM or skype

Look at the task tray where the clock is. Look for a icon that looks like a webcam. Is there one?
If there isnt one you will need to install the Drivers and software that came with your webcam.
If you cant find it, reply with the brand and model number

SOURCE: Skype video using Acer Aspire Mini Laptop camera?

If you have a WEB camera you need to configure your video Webcam settings. Open Skype click on Tools - Options - Video Settings - select your Webcam model. When you open Skype click on Tools - Options - Audio Settings and click on Microphone and select the microphone you are using and save the setting.
If you still have problems with your mic. then - To test if the microphone is working, go to Start - Programs - Accessories - Entertainment - Sound Recorder and record you voice. Can you see your voice recording, the green line should vary as you speek.
If you see a flat green line, then the microphone is either faulty or the wrong microphone is selected.

SOURCE: i have asus k53s series and my built in webcam does not appear or shown on devices and printers..but when i use yahoo messanger and skype there's a image view on webcam but it is flip vertically u

Your webcam would be listed under Imaging Devices in the device manager. If it is showing you an image when you use skype or yahoo messenger then it is installed. Go into the webcam software to change the settings on how it is projecting the image.

You have to open the webcam software to activate or start the webcam. There is no button to push or switch to turn on. The webcam software is somewhere in the program list. Click Start/Programs then search for any reference to webcam or camera. Sometimes the webcam might be inside one of the manufacturers folders in the program list so search the folders for it. Some manufacturers have something like Entertainment Experience that will open and show all the entertainment devices such as the dvd drive, webcam, media player, etc. if you see it click it to launch it then click on the webcam or camera icon.

Try using ManyCam

You can always download Manycam and install it. Go to www.google.com and in the search box type: "download.cnet.com" (without the quotes). Click on the link to go to the site. When the site opens look down on the left and you will see a gray area that says Find Software. Type "Manycam" (without the quotes) in the white search area then hit the search mirror. When it brings back your results look for the one that says ManyCam Virtual Webcam. Down load it and install it. Make sure you remove the check box on any junky programs it would like to install. You only want to install ManyCam, no additions whatsoever during the install. ManyCam is totally FREE and easy to use, and you will always know where your webcam software is.

Cannot hear my voice in microphone

These instructions are for Skype 4.2 for Windows or below. Before continuing, we strongly recommend that you upgrade to the latest version. For Skype 5.0 and above, refer to these instructions. If you're not sure which version of Skype you're using, it's easy to find out.
If the person you are talking to in a Skype-to-Skype call cannot hear you there are a number of steps you can take in order to help you set up your system correctly so that others can hear you.

Try calling Echo123. If you can hear your own recorded voice then your playback device (headphones, speakers, etc) and microphone are set up correctly and the problem might stem from low internet bandwidth, or that the person you are calling has not set up their sound devices properly.
If you cannot hear your own voice in Echo123 check that your microphone is on.

Test Echo123 again to see if the microphone now works..

THANKS.
If none of these steps work you might need to adjust your computers sound setup. Have a look at our Sounds Setup Guide.

Also check out our Troubleshooter for more help with common sound setup issues.

I am having Skype audio problems. My students could always hear loud background noises. When I checked the net for some ways to solve it, I found...

Its most likely the microphone you use. Try buying a logitech webcam instead of the one you are using. I prefer the Logitech 9000.
