Redo the connections. More than likely that something is not properly seated like the RAM.

SOURCE: no sound

Your speaker wires may be disconnected from the sound board. See diagram 15 at http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/toshiba-satellite-p105/take-apart-2.htm . It's pretty easy to peak into the case when the front case screws are removed.

Installed new hard drive p105 s6064 now cd drive wont work dont have recovery discs

Dell recovery will not work in a Toshiba Laptop. Just make sure the boot order is set to CD/DVD driver first that will automatically start the CD/DVD driver when disc is loaded.

I'm tryna to turn on toshiba satellite p105-s6024 and it keeps saying a disk read error occurred... What do I do?

Well that usally means the bios has looked for a hard drive during preboot check and it wasnt present. Or it wasnt responding therefore you most likely need a new hard drive.

For some models, however -- including those listed above -- booting from the Recovery disc requires pressing the F12 key, rather than the 'C' key. The instructions below are correct for these models.
CAUTION: The Recovery process reformats the computer's hard disk drive, which completely erases its contents -- including all applications, all documents, and all other data stored on the drive. Be sure to back up your documents and other data before following the instructions below.
Follow these steps to erase the current contents of the hard disk drive and to re-install all of the software that was installed on the computer when it was manufactured:
1. With the computer on, insert the first Recovery disc into the optical drive.
2. Shut down the computer (click the Start button, click Shut Down, select Shut Down, click OK).
3. Press the computer's power button to turn the computer on, and then immediately press and hold the F12 key. Release the F12 key when the menu of boot options appears.
4. Use the arrow keys to navigate to the CD/DVD option. Press the Enter key to select it.
The computer will restart, and will boot from the Recovery disc.
5. Follow the instructions on the screen to start the Recovery process.
CAUTION: Once the Recovery process has begun, do not interrupt it.

The computer's hard drive will be formatted, erasing its contents. All of the software that was installed on the computer when it was manufactured will then be re-installed.
6. Once the Recovery process is complete, remove the Recovery disc, and press any key to restart the computer.

Depending upon which CPU came with your laptop, you may be able to upgrade. The three options available for the P105-S6024 are:
  • 1.6GHz
  • 1.83Ghz
  • 2.0GHz
Each are Core Duo processors. I hope this helps!

:( LAPTOP wont start

First ensure that the problem you have explained is due to a VIRUS or Laptop related.Remove the hard drive from your laptop and turn it ON and check if it remains ON until you SWITCH OFF, if yes then you could install MS Win XP or any OS supported and download the drivers for the OS from the manufacturer's web site and install them all one by one . It definitely would work
